I went on this solo trip to relax and I always choose ADULTS only. This particular hotel was everything but relaxing and ADULTS only. There were thousands of college aged individuals partying and causing chaos the entire time. The pools were dirty, food/plates/cups were left everywhere throughout the facility and on the beach. The stairwells were unkempt and were littered throughout my stay; dirty cups were in the same spot for days which means there was not daily cleanings. The electricity was out for 24 hours and we were left without running water and power; no AC, no fans, no elevator, etc. All but one restaurant was accessible during this time. The beach also did not have umbrellas or cabanas like the photos demonstrate. The only shade were under the palm trees. When I go away I spend 12 hours a day on the beach so I purposely look for properties that offer coverings; despite their advertisement photos this facility did not have any. I've been to many RIU's throughout the Caribbean and this one, by FAR, was the worst experience EVER. Even during checkout, they would not allow my driver on the property to pick me up. When I asked if I could be driven to the main gate they said no and directed me on how to get there by walking! I wouldn't return to this hotel if it was offered for free.

We were checked in with no power, no hot water, wet paint in the room, no restaurants open, and someone went missing. Terrible food at buffets, the worst liquor, and things were falling apart. It just was not a good experience at all

During my stay at RIU with my girlfriend for our Spring Break trip, not only did the power go out for 24hrs, but our room got up 85 degrees during the power outage. My girlfriend began to get ill due to lack of water quality within the resort, and was suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. With the toilets being unable to flush for a few hours during the beginning of the power outage, she was having to repeatedly use the toilet without the ability to flush any of it away. After a long night of little sleep due to the temperature of the room, we proceeded to head down to the pool to cool off for a bit. As we headed into the elevator, and began to head down to the lobby floor, the elevator shook and stopped abruptly leaving stuck in between floors. The doors opened only to show us the raw materials in between floors, leaving us trapped in the elevator for 30mins. To finalize our stay one of the girls at the resort was reported missing leaving us scared to go to the beach at all during our last few days.

overall the hotel was OK. The amenities weren't all that great you can tell it needs a good upgrade. I will say the most disappointing thing was the dining reservations, we tried to book a reservation to one of the four restaurants and was only able to get a reservation 2 out of the 6 days we were there. You HAD to book your reservation right at 6, you couldn't book it in advance and if you weren't there at that time, then good luck trying to get seated. Service from the staff was mediocre. What I did love was the beaches! Wow these were stunning and the beach was clean. Will I go back to DR? Yes. Will I go back to this hotel? Probably not.

property was pretty decent unfortunately i almost did get sick from raw meat that was consumed at the overnight bar. but this place is always a good time. drink are stereotypical not too strong. mainly watered down but still it works
