I was traveling solo and was put in a room next to a family with a small yappy dog. You could hear everything, especially the barking dog. I'm sure it wasn't very busy so not sure why they didn't space us out. I won't be staying here again

Pet friendly and tidy

We always use the Carmel Inn when travelling through Prince George. I've always found the staff friendly and rooms clean. The fenced dog area is a huge bonus for anyone traveling with dogs.

The coffee pot had mold in it and our bathroom door wouldn't close unless you lifted the door. We were in a room at the front of the hotel and it was very noisy with traffic. We should have asked to change rooms.

The restaurant and pool top service was horrible, we were there for 9 nights and it did not improve at all while we stayed. The male waiters were to busy eating food behind the bar, we would sit there for 10 minutes before being asked if we wanted anything or brought a menu. The drinks we're out of garnishes by the afternoon. The pool was cloudy, and needed more water, it's grungy and looks nothing like the photos online, our room smelt like mold, everything is in need of attention and upgrading. All of which I'm sure they could afford if they treated their customers better. We tip well when service is good and I didn't want to tip at all, they ask for a tip which is uncomfortable so I get obligated every time. The 2 hostes women in the restaurant were lovely to deal with, however they need to really up their staffing game. The location is top notch and thankfully everything was in walking distance so our time spent at the hotel was very minimal. Such a shame they have such potential to be better.
