The room was clean, the staff friendly. The location was convenient to places I wanted to see in Philadelphia. The “happy hour’ was good, breakfast was good. Drawbacks: the room was ice cold and we could not adjust the temperature. Parking was 3 city blocks away. Not convenient for bringing luggage to and from the hotel. No shuttle to/from parking. No place to pull up to the hotel to drop off luggage. The price was very reasonable for the location and distance to places of interest. I give it 3 stars. I would not stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone.

If you need a place to escape for a bit this is it . I had a wonderful stay got a nice amount of rest without any interruptions . Also a nice walking distance from a bunch of places & a nice little gathering area below I was invited to if you like to drink . Will return.

The room was beautiful. I like the decor of the hotel and the comfort. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. They served breakfast every morning and had a meet and greet for their guests every evening. When I come back to Philly I'm definitely staying here again. Price point was great too.

The Alexander Hotel is convenient to recreation, sporting events, and sightseeing; arts and entertainment; dining and shopping; work venues and transportation. But, so are many other hotels. What sets the Alexander Inn apart is its quaint setting, in a historic neighborhood, and its staff, each of whom is welcoming and professional. When you stay at the Alexander Inn, you are treated as family (family you enjoy being around!) and not just a room number. And, the nightly Social Hours allow guests traveling alone to mingle, if they choose to, in much the same way guests do at a bed and breakfast. I would not stay anywhere else in Philly!

I stayed at the Alexander Inn 2nd weekend of September. Hotel was clean and cozy. Breakfast selection was not large, but nice (waffle maker, toaster, butter & jelly, bagel, hard boiled eggs, and obviously coffee and tea ). The room was small, with a tv, but it was a one queen bedroom for me and my daughter and there was enough room for both of us and our stuff.The bathroom was older but cute and it was clean and everything was functioning. The area was clean and walkable. Delicious coffee shop a block away, and different spots to eat within a few blocks walk. You can walk to the park, it Is clean and peaceful with lots squirrels. The only slight negative was the parking situation, which was about 2 blocks away, and then carrying our bags to the hotel and paying for the parking twice since I had to take my car out last minute and then bring it back to the garage ( I could’ve paid a flat price to be able to take the car in and out if I knew). Anyway, the neighborhood is quite, peaceful and beautiful and it was lovely walking around looking at the historic beautiful buildings and architecture. Their Alexander Inn is anolder hotel and the charm and location is unbeatable.

I would highly recommend this boutique hotel for a charming quiet stay. The nightly happy hour and daily breakfast added much to our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We loved the "look" of the hotel, it's furniture and art work! Hotel was convenient to great restaurants and all the historical spots we wished to see. While parking is off site (and pricey--natch!), the lot was easy to locate and the discount via the hotel a plus. Loved the wine and cheese in the afternoon and give the staff extra stars for helping us deal with our towed car, medication that need refrigeration, and "stuff" that needed to be stowed after checking out but not leaving town. We would surely stay here again!

I love this Inn!!! Convenience, comfort, and amenities (evening social hour and morning breakfast), in a lovely historic and pet-friendly hotel, in the heart of Philly, only minutes from Reading Market!!! And, every staff member is welcoming and efficient, offering top-notch service! The same is true of the staff of neighboring businesses, which include restaurants (one is vegan, too), coffee and donut shops, clubs, markets and drug stores, and shops. The Alexander Inn is my go-to Inn in Philly!!!
