"Nice stay. "
Stayed in "Japanese and Western Room (2 Single Beds and 3 Japanese Futon)". Very spacious and well furnished in traditional Japanese Style. Staff were very helpful n sincere. Wifi is weak. There's a small outdoor onsen, looking over the ocean. There's a charge of ¥150/person (over 11 yrs old) for onsen. Parking charges ¥540/night.

"Beautiful room! Beautiful view!"
This hotel was incredible from beginning to end. We walked the short 5 minutes from the nearest JR train station and was immediately greeted by bellhops that took our luggage and brought us into the hotel reception area. The gentleman that checked us in spoke excellent English and explained to us every detail we would need to know while at the hotel. The room was fantastic! Very Japanese in style, with the water closet at the front door in its own little room, and the bathroom inside the room by the windows. The bathroom has a powder room, then further in is a shower area, and then even further in there is a private onsen bathtub that is open to the outside. The room also has a balcony that we sat on to enjoy watching the sun rise right over the ocean. We had the Japanese-style meal for our dinner. I did not love everything during the meal, but it was all quite good regardless. They have an excellent selection of sake, and the fish is always fresh and whatever is in peak season. The hotel has two public baths; one is outdoors, and one is indoors on the top floor. We went only to the indoor bath, and it was very nice. Men and women are separate, of course, so I can't comment on the women's onsen. There was no cold pool, but three different temperature hot pools, ranging from warm to quite hot. I saw a very pretty and rather large butterfly while relaxing in the pool, and also a couple of interesting insects. We only stayed one night, and very much wish we had stayed longer.

"Was better than price."
I used standard room with tadami area. that room was big enough, as I thought. looks bogger than photo. And staffs are kind. If I came back to Yufu to enjoy hot-springs, I will stay here again.

"Very comfortable hotel, somewhat out of the way"
If you are planning on walking to this hotel: Google Maps says it's about 10 minutes from the nearest train station (Bungo-Toyooka), but it's definitely longer, especially since there's a fairly steep climb to the top of the hill the hotel is on. It's not a very friendly walk, either - you'll either walk along a highway or along a narrow residential street, and both are pretty perilous at night. This means that if you don't have a car, you're looking at around an hour to commute each way from Beppu, or more if you want to check out Oita. The whole Beppu area is extremely car-centric, so please keep that in mind! (The hotel does offer a couple of buses each day, but these get very crowded quickly and run infrequently.) Otherwise: this was a very pleasant stay. The hotel definitely caters to families and large tour groups, so be prepared for crowds, but the rooms are very clean and massive by Japanese standards, and the mountain view and sea views are both fantastic. I spent a lot of time in the onsen, which is equally clean and comfortable, and although it also gets very crowded it's also very large, with a beautiful outdoor pool looking out onto Beppu Bay. I had dinner once at the hotel's lowest-end restaurant and found it surprisingly great, if a bit pricey (to be expected from a hotel, but here you don't have too many other options if you don't have a car).

Oita is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Oita, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Oita hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
