Good Peace and Quiet in Older Facility

The room was a good size with a small table and 2 chairs included, was comfortable and quiet as well. We had some problems with electricity as ceiling fan and some light switches did not work. We found on our own that could be corrected by pressing the red reset button in a bathroom outlet. We had food on the kitchenette which brought a lot of ant activity. One night some animal got into an outdoor trash bin that had an open top design and scattered food all over. The whirlpool tub had large remnants of non slip material on it, we did not use it but it was still clean. We rested well, the tv worked well as did the gas fireplace.

Sad and very run down

Don't be fooled by the " luxury " advertised. Peeling wallpaper , patched carpeting , missing toilet paper holder , flimsy screens , ragged carpet, bathroom door looked like it had been chewed by an animal , employee had to bend the plug to get the heater to work , trash outside the door was never emptied even though it was full . The grounds are unkempt with no attempt to make the place look nice . The sun terrace is a joke , 2 filthy tables with 3 chairs , one of them with broken slats . The bed was fairly comfortable and it was quiet , but wouldn't ever stay again.

Quite comfortable!

Our room was quiet and comfortable - off the main track!! There were signs of aging and need for maintenance, tho, that should be tended to, ie, peeled back wallpaper and retry dirty windows.

I enjoyed the stay. The room is big. The bed is soft and the sheets are clean. It’s an older building so things are not in top shape, but it’s very comfortable and quiet.

This property is old and badly needs some sprucing up. Rooms are dark, not enough lighting, electrical outlets are old and worn so the charger falls out. Room smells a bit like mold. Friedly staff was helpful. Good parking on site. TV remote did not work.

The Rosedale Inn was a decent place to stay on our vacation. Despite almost missing the check in time, which is strictly before 8 pm, they offered to still make our keys available along with all necessary information if we hadn’t made it in time. The office staff was friendly, and we appreciated their help! We were even upgraded from a Queen room to a King room for free. The rooms are outdated, but had nice amenities like the tub and the fireplace in the room. We didn't spend much time in the room, so it was easy to look past the peeling wallpaper or the small rips in the carpet. There is no AC, but there was a heater. The area is so cool, you didn’t really need much more than a cracked window! We also loved the kitchenette in the room. The surrounding area was very nice, and at night you could hear the ocean from the property. The property itself was small, but had plenty of parking. If you can look past the small, interior flaws then this would be a decent place to stay for a trip. It’s far from luxury, but for my families first trip (with a 3 month old) we enjoyed it. It’s not very far from downtown Pacific Grove, and a few more minutes to Monterey. Being away from the busyness and tourists in Monterey was a huge bonus for us.

Avoid this hotel at all costs!!! The condition of the room was unacceptable. The wallpaper was peeling, the white curtains had visible black mold spots, and the bathtub was dirty with a large gap between it and the wall—poorly patched with joint sealant. The bathroom light was rusted, tiles were coming loose, and there were spiderwebs on the ceiling. The bedsheets were stained, the pillows were old and lumpy, and the entire room had a musty odor with mold clearly visible on the walls. I had to move the armchair just to find an outlet, and the area behind it looked like it had never been cleaned. The outside wasn’t any better—overgrown grass, random trash, and even a broom and shovel just left lying there at the entrance of my room. This place is in serious need of deep cleaning and renovation. Definitely not worth staying in. The Pacific grove is a beautiful place to visit, just don’t stay in this hotel because it will ruin your experience.

This property is extremely outdated, and we only stayed here out of necessity due to a last-minute scheduling issue at our original motel. While I don’t want to sound harsh, the condition of this place is very disappointing. We arrived to see weeds around the welcome signs and benches, along with some trash. Stepping into our suite felt like going back decades — unfortunately not in a charming or nostalgic way. The furniture, fixtures, and overall environment were old and worn, and the musty smell of mildew was hard to ignore. On a positive note, the bedding was clean and the bathroom was tolerable, but that’s where the positives ended. We were here during Monterey Car Week, and several other car enthusiasts we spoke with had similar feelings. This may have once been a respectable “old school” option in Pacific Grove, but in its current state, it simply doesn’t justify charging guests to stay here. My recommendation: look elsewhere if you can.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

I paid $470 for this room and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was in very poor condition: • The carpet was coming undone • Air conditioning did not work • Wires were exposed coming out of the wall • Bathroom had peeling wallpaper, loose tiles, and a chipping bathtub • Fireplace did not work • No outlets near the bed for charging devices The room also smelled bad and felt unsafe. The back door opened to a broken fence, and we even found dirty towels sitting on a table outside. Everything was extremely outdated and neglected. For the price, I expected at least a clean and functional room. Instead, I was left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. I rarely ever leave negative reviews, but this hotel should be avoided until major repairs and updates are made.

Our room was clean and large but a bit outdated and some things were in disrepair. The bathroom door would not fully close due to being warped. There is a spot at the edge of the carpet that is worn through which is a bit unsightly and potentially dangerous due to the metal edging of the carpet. The shower head is outdated and doesn’t produce a very strong stream of water. The bed was very comfortable although a bit soft. The bath towels are very cheap and thin. Despite all this, it was still an okay place to stay and does keep the cost of staying here down. And the area is a very pleasant and quiet neighborhood.

Room was outdated & very “tacky”. Sheer curtains under regular curtains were in rags, bathroom wallpaper patched & patches peeling off. Carpet was very frayed at edge of tile where sink was. Grout around shower was moldy. Windows VERY dirty. Outside at dumpster wet scraps of paper just laying around on ground. No cleaning person or maintenance person bothered to pick it up the 2 days we were there. On the positive side room # 116, was large, shower spray good & good hot water. We will not stay at Rosedale Inn again.

We showed up and checked in.. room smelled dirty. Facilities are very dated and you're either baking in your room or freezing. Fireplace didn't work, no towels in the room so I walked to the office. Was told they would be there in an hour? Room service didnt knock and just came in. She was embarrassed of course and we told her it was okay but lets be honest, that's super unprofessional. Wasn't impressed. Sorry.

The whole property and room needs maintenance. The lobby needs a refresh, it is now t very inviting. The door to the room had something spilled on it, the rug needed replacing, the tub was coming off the walll, the wallpaper was peeling, the window screens were broken and it left an overall feel of tired and worn down. For the price and location, we were disappointed.
