Beautiful lobby at a historic hotel. However, sensible moderations (e.g. bathroom, more outlets and firmer mattress) would enhance the balance of staying at a heritage hotel. The location was great, walking distance to everything.

A very cool property in an awesome city. The place was kind of like a maze when we first showed up but we quickly got the hang of it. Rooms have a vintage feel but were clean. Overall a really cool trip!!

This is a very quaint hotel right in the center of beautiful downtown Carmel. It was so convenient to so many things and we enjoyed our stay. There are no elevators, so be prepared to carry your luggage up one or two flights of stairs. We felt it was worth it. Very nice hotel.

The location is perfect - walkable to everything and just a couple of blocks from the beach. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room, which we loved listening to the waves at night with the window open. I only wish there was a coffee maker in the room rather than having to go out to the bakery downstairs to get coffee.

On the first night we were above the kitchen back entrance and at 4:30 we were awakened with the shuffling of dishes and racks, it was very noisy. We were fortunately able to move rooms for our second night there, the staff was amazing and understanding.

The Pine Inn is located very conveniently on Ocean Ave and Monte Verde, close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Some rooms (i.e., superior king) have very nice views of the ocean. Parking is also included. The building itself is very old and it doesn't appear that the rooms have been updated in some time. However, if you can score a good rate, it's a great value.
