We have stayed at The Gonzo Inn before and liked the rooms, the location and the quirky vibe. Our concern this time was with privacy, security and things not disclosed. We arrived at 5pm expecting to check in at the front desk. All was quiet and locked. There was a note on the door stating that the front desk closed at noon (not 7 pm) and a few envelopes were taped to the window with names on them. We located ours, keys and room number inside. We dropped our bags and headed to dinner. When we returned it was clear that someone had been in our room because there was a bottle of wine on the floor. The instructions for breakfast were confusing (email instructions vs written). We went to the front desk and they gave us vouchers for a place a few blocks away as the breakfast room was being renovated. We were very surprised to find a food truck with picnic tables in January. I think they should have disclosed all these things before booking.

The Gonzo has a funky vibe that really works well. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice, well appointed and come with balconies. Pet friendly too. Location is great and breakfast (delicious cooked to order) is included. Price is right too. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in Moab. Thank you.

I was assigned a connecting room, and at around 6 a.m. I was speaking in a normal, quiet voice on the phone. Despite this, the guests next door complained and knocked on the wall directly, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I understand that noise can travel more easily in connecting rooms, but in this case, the sound insulation between the rooms—especially the gap under the connecting door—was insufficient. I could also hear noises from the neighboring room quite clearly. While the neighbor’s reaction felt impatient, I believe the main issue is the lack of proper soundproofing in the connecting door. I hope the hotel can improve this, as guests should be able to speak normally in their rooms without feeling stressed or unsafe

The property is nice. Check your windows because all of ours were open( we noticed at 2am when someone was on the phone next to the bedroom). Also the sole purpose to book here was the tub in the suite and it was filthy.

The hotel was great- However, I have caution for you We stayed in rm104, and the noise from above was LOUD. Turns out there's a walkway above 103 & 104, and you hear ALL the walking. The positives; Extremely clean room & bathroom. Decorated nicely. Included breakfast is adequate, on a voucher system. Overall the staff & place is really nice. Friendly staff.

The room lighting was too dark needed to have brighter lighting especially in the bathroom as my wife had a hard time getting ready. Needs to be more soaps and body wash in the room only one provided had to go to the front desk for more. A luggage rack would have been nice as we put our luggage on the floor. Exterior stair railings need to be painted as they are chipping and tired.

The hotel was great, clean and staff friendly. We were greeted with a bottle of wine on arrival which is nice. It is located in a very convenient location with plenty of food options around. The only thing was that the little soaps/shampoo bottles provided seemed to have been used by a prior customer which felt a little cheap (but I believe it is a honest mistake).

The best feature of this property is the location. It is walking distance to all the attributes of central Moab. The front desk personnel were great to deal with and very personable and friendly. The property as a whole is showing it's age, and for the price level it was disappointing. The cleanliness of the room was average at best, and the bathroom was poorly cleaned, especially the floor and shower. Perhaps this is due to the challenges of staffing, and maybe to the younger demographic of Moab visitors it's not an issue, but as an older (and maybe cranky?) traveler it was not up to par, again for this price range. We had a great time in Moab and wouldn't hesitate to return, but not to the Gonzo.
