What a joke and hassle!

This hotel was a total joke. Hotel.com calls me the morning of our trip saying the hotel cannot honor our booking. We call the actual hotel, and they say, "we can honor it, but you have to pay in cash". That is sketchy to me, but okay I said. We had already paid in advance by credit card but was assured wed get a refund from Hotels.com. We didn't get a refund at that time, and it was a total hassle. After a week of back and forth we finally get a refund. The hotel is older and needs work. The bathroom had a dark brown tint to the wallpaper in the bathroom and just wasn't up to Hampton standards. The toilet seat was half broke and I had to watch how I used it. Breakfast was the usual disappointment. Won't be staying here again.

They hotel was nice. The bed wasn't very comfortable. We chose this hotel because it said it had a buffet breakfast. I wouldn't call it a buffet. To me a buffet has more than just 2 options of fresh hot food. They did have the typical waffle iron, yogurt and cereal,the standard Continental breakfast items. The beds were not comfortable the mattress was pretty uncomfortable. We checked in on a Sunday and left on Thursday. Housekeeping cleaned our room almost every day. I'm not sure what happened but on Wednesday they came in our room but only took the dirty towels and didn't empty garbage or refill our towels or make the bed. Other than that the stay was good. Was located very well for easy access to the surrounding areas we were there to visit

Bed was comfortable, and the unit was clean. We had issues with the card keys that were on the side of annoying. They had to reset them 4 times during our 2 night stay.

Quiet and Nice Stay

The staff was nice. The room was nice. Outdated but nice. I was a little upset that no one was available in the morning to provide breakfast on the first morning, but the front desk person explained that there was nobody to cook breakfast on the weekends but the general manager at the moment.

Decent stay.

Quick visit to Shipshewana for a restock... took the whole family to spend time in the pool afterwards. Was decent stay except we had to ask for linens for the sofa bed as they weren't in the room even though i booked 3 guests. And the side door on the ground floor near the pool... need greased as the handle gets stuck and then the latch doesnt work... leaving the door unlocked for all... and when that door and the other one shut? LOUD. I requested a room close to the pool... but i did not realize the amount of traffic that would use that door... kept me awake most of the night. No one's fault but my own there lol

Would have given it a 5-star rating, except our room was directly above the lobby and we could here the sliding doors opening & closing through the night. No view out the window either because the roof over drive-up area blocked the entire window! There shouldn't even be a guest room in that position...they should have made it a common area or laundry/storage or something else.

The morning we left for our 3 night stay I received an email the room was canceled 😞. I called Expedia who contacted Hilton Hampton in Middlebury IN. I was told to contact the hotel directly as they did have a room for us. I did and we continued on our way. When I arrived, I was told the room was canceled and they had no room for us. I panicked we had nowhere to stay. I explained that I was told I had a room gave the name of the person representing the Hilton. They finally worked it out but they wanted a cash deposit that evening for the room. I personally feel the whole thing was very unprofessional. I was under the impression Expedia and the hotel worked out and alternative solution for its customers. Evidently, I was wrong.

Great from thre start

From the moment we walked in to the Front Desk, everyone was friendly and very accomodating. The bed, pillows and linens were comfortable. Shower only, no tub except the Jacuzzi! Being vertically challenged, a step up would have been a nice touch. Definately recommend and will stay again should the opportunity present itself.
