"Amazing place and location"
Thoroughly enjoyed this magical and very peaceful location. Top of Marialva village, a mix of individual old renovated and new buildings. Atmospheric, high quality furniture, very clean. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was by myself and never felt awkward, unlike in other places. Food was amazing, candlelit dinner, breakfast incredible choice. They catered to my food intolerance. Perfectly reasonably priced for dinner and for room.

"Super Hotel Setting but with Service Mishaps"
This hotel is by far the best in the region. The set-up is bucolic, right on the Douro with terraces for breakfast and dinner. The service is not always at the same level as the hotel however. We had issues with the air conditioning that was not powerful enough for 40C. In August, temperatures get to 45C, so not sure how they cope. TV sound is blocked too low, so you can't really hear it. We came back one night and there was no hot water. Took 1,5 hours to fix, but by then it was past midnight. After discussing with Manager the next day, he offered us a lavish dinner however.

"Lovely hotel but remote"
A lovely hotel. Very different than what we would want. This is for people who want a quiet atmosphere away from everything. Unfortunately they were between chefs so no evening meal although they were very accommodating and served us a light snack. Lots of stairs down to the room.

"A nice property in the Douro"
The hotel is a very nice renovated (and in the process-of) in the Douro valley, about 5-10 walking minutes from Pinhao. The staff will have you check-in in the visitor center where wine tasting occurs and because of the region will offer you a glass ;) We stayed in the Sarah suite, which is tremendous, very nice, modern and a decent view of the river. There is no phone or TV in the rooms but have a common room for all guests with the amenities. Breakfast is served in the old house (literally eating in someone's living room). The restaurant is still being built but this part will likely evolve when finished. One big call-out (and perhaps the hotel should send a note to the guest before check-in), the hotel apparently has a nice tasting menu but it needs to be ordered in advance. During the off-season especially the kitchen will be closed for dinner. My only negative is more to do with the region than the hotel. We went in early January and everything in town is closed. The hotel gave us a list of restaurants to try (because their restaurant was closed) but after calling some and visiting others all were closed too. Do some research...

"What a delight"
This beautiful 11 room hotel is tucked into a hillside overlooking Pinhao and the Duoro valley. The rooms were a bit small but well appointed, baths were very nice and the private deck with beautiful vistas was another plus. The hotel is only four years old and built with local woods and stone, it has a beautiful lobby and incredible, swimming pool. The staff is delightful, hard working and knowledgeable. The breakfast was continental and beautifully presented. This was a true gem!

"A rural paradise setting."
Everything about this place was like staying in a 5 star luxury hotel. The decor and attention to detail in furnishings, was top drawer, and the host-owners were warm, witty, and extraordinarily caring. It's a place a king would offer his best knight lodgings after winning a hard battle.

Meda is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Meda, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Meda hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
