Multiple housekeeping issues......see below Missing standard kitchen inventory 2 requests for alternate pillow went without response. Old blood stains on doona Strong fish smell in fridge. Filthy frypan in cupboard. Dangerous high kitchen cupboard with heavy pans Also just returned from Auckland Oaks NZ and housekeeping was an issue there also, even across 2 countries. "Unusual" interactions with housekeeping staff in both very recent Oaks stays that don't happen with other hotel chains. Simple requests like an extra teabag met as if asking for the moon. Almost like management at multiple levels are not on top of what's happening or don't understand what should be happening and then briefing / overseeing their staff correctly. Just read online about the Oaks management model and that explains a lot - potential for amateurish management and disinterested staff is high.

This would be a good choice as a one bedroom self-catering apartment with a well equipped kitchen area, including a large fridge and freezer, and a washing machine/dryer cabinet in a good-sized bathroom, and a few minutes stroll from the Geelong Harbour area. But it fell short of the 4 star hotel-style accommodation we were hoping to find for our $680 two-night stay. Very limited range of breakfast options in the onsite cafe and/or room service. No food service options at all after 2 pm. Too warm under doonas provided for a comfortable sleep, and couldn’t control bedroom temperature sufficiently through the living area air conditioner. Switches for bedside lights were inexplicably too high to reach while lying on the bed. The instructions on the TV for casting from either our Apple or Android phones just didn’t work for us, though we’ve had no problems with us in other accommodation.

The room was lovely with a comfortable bed and amenities.The staff were helpful and friendly. Great position to waterfront, Westfield and dining options. The only downfalls were the confusing lifts and a beeping from something electrical in the kitchen that disturbed my sleep.

Good location near the waterfront and westfield, place was clean and spacious with pay TV which was nice. Bathroom modern and comfortable, not cramped thankfully but a drcent size. Kitche was fine and wrked as needed, place was good value for money.
