We got there at 3:00 check-in and were informed that they were short on cleaners and it would be a couple hours before our room was ready. we had a wedding to be at 3:30. we canceled and got a room at another nearby hotel which we were checked in immediately and made it to the wedding in time.

We arrived to the hotel at 1:50 pm. The front desk clerk said that they were not allowing anyone to check in early as check in is at 3:00. Came back to the hotel at 2:50 and said that they were short staffed and wouldn’t be starting check in until 3:30-4 at the earliest which was a huge inconvenience with our schedule. Had been on the road since 6am for my son’s hockey games. Was hoping to get some rest in between games but that didn’t happen due to the later check in.

Outstanding Staff

The front desk personnel were understaffed like very other hotel in the country, BUT they were so helpful and friendly. The lady in charge of the breakfast was fire. She worked hard and took a lot of pride in keeping the space welcoming and stocked for the guests. Overall, very happy with our experience with this staff!!

The hotel was clean and comfortable and appeared to be updated recently. Walls are rather thin as we could hear the people talking in the rooms next to ours. The breakfast used real glass plates, coffee cups, and silverware, whick was a nice upgrade from other hotels.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Appreciate that there were more than 2 pillows on the bed. 1 thing I would have liked is to have a table available indoors for playing cards somewhere other than the pool area. Would stay again.

I had a great stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Detroit Lakes MN. The rooms were clean, well kept, and weren’t musty smelling like many are in the dog days of summer. The hot breakfast had many options and the coffee at this location was delicious.

This hotel is about 10 minutes away from one of the Dambo Trolls and also close to Detroit Lake. The staff, with one exception, are very kind and genuinely want guest to have a good stay. Unfortunately, the hotel clearly has many maintenance items that have been deferred. We started in room 200 which was clean but had a whirlpool tub start dial tht didn't work,

We enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Everything was clean and fresh. The breakfast was good, but a bit more timeliness on the bacon prep would have been appreciated. The outside door at the far end of the building should be repaired. I wouldn’t think that security would be an issue, given where the hotel is located, but a properly functioning door that unlocks with the key card would help to keep unwanted people out of the building. We’ll be staying at this facility in the future if we happen to need accommodations when we’re in the area

Bathroom walls need repairs. Badly. Pancskes in the breakfast room weren't very good. Most of the food was barely warm. Hot water for instant oatmeal was cold. We didn't eat breakfast there on the 2nd day.
