It is half-an-hour away from the city center walking. Some people might think that it is a problem, but I thought it was perfect. I could walk right out and be at the spot where everyone goes to see the northern lights. The hotel breakfast is filling, the tours pick you up right there. I only walked to the city center to shop for some groceries and go out in a restaurant (30min walk). If you need some last minute food or drinks (even lunch packs and full thermos), they sell them at the reception so you are never "stranded". It is a guest house, so the bathrooms are outside the rooms and shared, but they are clean. The communal breakfast in the morning is a great way to start the day. You can store food in the shared refrigerators in the kitchen and cook your own food too.

Overall hotel was nice, very cozy. Staff was nice and helpful. The room didn't have a TV nor internet connection, but there was a separate room with TV and internet. In the hotel there was restaurant and also a separate kitchen where guests can make their own food which is very convenient for longer stay. The only minor drawback was that the temperature in the room was slightly too high.

Very much enjoyed a two night stay at this hotel. The room was lovely, the breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. Our room was a little late being ready, but a few drinks on the house were very welcome.
