A visit to Raffles, now inexplicably called Nuo, which is the same name as another hotel, will place you back in the 1920's or 30's. Such elegance, such service. Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay. No complaints. Two room suites for under $120 per night. It is convenient to shopping and eating. Walk to everything or take a cab. The staff handles English very well. Loved Writer's bar, restaurant OK. Will be back.

We stayed 4 days during Chinese New Year and had a wonderful experience. Very dedicated, attentive staff.
The room was spacious, modern. The bathroom was large and had a great "spa" feel and layout. It also was quiet and peaceful which is nice after a long day. The hotel has a very good restaurant, China Grill with stunning view of the city.

The hotel was under renovation when we were there; however, it is still my favorite 5 Star hotel on our China vacation. The Peninsula Beijing was a nice place to return to after touring the city. The bed was comfortable and they provided everything we needed. They even provided a few extras. It was no problem to mail my Mother's Day card to the United States. It's close to the metro/subway and within walking distance of the forbidden city and other tourist sites and of course taxis and cars are easy to get. The staff is friendly, fluent in English, and always professional.

This hotel is more like an aparment with daily cleaning service. The pluses are there are two bedrooms (1 king size bed in the larger room and 1 twin in the smaller room); there is a small kitchen, there is even a nice washer w. drying capability as well (we used it and it worked). So it is more spacious than a normal hotel. It is suitable for a family.
The downside is that the upkeep is not the best. It is not the cleanest place (there are stains in the carpet), but it is acceptable to me. If you want to get new toilery each day you need to throw away the used ones otherwise they won't give you a new set. The cleaning crew start their day between 7:30-8:30am so you have to wait till then to get your shampoons etc. The hotel staff is nice and do respnd to your need even though it is slow at times.
For the two bedrooms, two breakfast buffet are included. The selection is very basic but it is good enough to get a meal out of it. You have a selection of eggs that is cooked for order.

I stayed here most of the time during my visit to Tianjin. The hotel is run like an American hotel. So for Americans, it feels at home. There is some renovation for the next door building during my stay. The gym was relocated to a couple of guest rooms on the 8th floor.

Hotel is new and everything works! Upgraded to lovely suite overlooking Tianjin - awesome views of River and city lights at night from room on 40th floor. Excellent breakfast buffet from top floor, 49.
Staff wonderful, great bed, easy to navigate city by taxi. From Beijing, only 35 minutes at 260mph on train. City old and new worth 2-day exploration.

The tourist desk at the airport did not know this 5Star hotel. After calling the hotel and getting the directions for the Taxi in Chinese, the driver could not find it either. Mid April the hotel turned off the heat already and the room was very cold. They did give me a small space heater but it was barely enough for the big room they put me in. The carpets in the room were quite dirty and showed its age.
