Overall, the Jin An is clean and quiet with reasonably English-speaking helpful staff. Situated as it is in the midst of a busy area and within walking distance of restaurants and shopping centres, it is convenient and safe for guests to wander around.
While the breakfast and dinning experience in the hotel outlets was great, there wasn't any decent coffee joint around. The local coffee was bad and no Starbucks!

I stay at this Shangri-la hotel twice a year. And finally, the rooms have been remodeled. (At least the ones I've stayed in.) Thus, rooms are now nice, fresh and comfortable. The buffets are still tasty. Breakfast buffets cost RMB137 and lunch buffets RMB167. (US$1 = RMB6.9.) Hotel's location is excellent. It's smack in the middle of downtown. Bank of China is close. Starbucks is right across the street, and KFC is nearby. From airport to hotel, taxi will cost you RMB100-120. From Changchun West rail station to hotel will cost about RMB30.

Hotel has a beautiful lobby. However, there middle lounging area is raised by about size inches and was hazardous if you do not pay full attention to where you are walking.
Rooms are well appointed and spacious. We had problem of not getting hot water that evening. But they quickly called 'engineering' to fix it. It took about 20 minutes and I finally got the hot water for my shower.
The best part of our stay was the great dinner and lunch at their restaurant.
