Grande Real Villa Italia

"Excellent Hotel"
We have just returned from a week in Cascais where we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The Grande Real Villa Italia is located on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town, close to all amenities. The room was very spacious, with a huge bed and two balconies. We didn't have a sea view but we still had a lovely vista over the countryside. The hotel staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. we visited Lisbon on a couple of occasions using the local train from Cascais, which was cheap, punctual and provided an opportunity to see the coastline. The food and drinks in the hotel were excellent and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit this part of Portugal.

Hotel Cascais Miragem

Avenida Marginal, 8554, Cascais - Map
Loved our experience at the Hotel Cascais Miragem! Every single staff member was courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful - from the front desk staff/doormen, to the staff at the restaurant/bar/breakfast buffet, to the staff at the pool. The hotel always felt quiet even though it was full. They provided a welcome and departing gift and a free glass bottle of water daily. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of food and drink options and the wait staff was excellent. The self-parking was in an attached garage and very easy and the hotel validated the tickets for us daily. The hotel was within a short walking distance of a grocery store and the train station as well as the beach and waterfront, which included numerous cafes/bars/restaurants. It was a short walk (~10-15min) to shops and restaurants and about 20-25min walk to the lighthouse and Boca do Inferno. The area was a perfect location to be able to visit Sintra, Lisbon, and other surrounding cities/towns.

"Excellent in every way"
From arrival to departure we felt immediately relaxed in this beautiful hotel which definitely takes you back in time to an elegant era. Our room was very spacious with a small balcony. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were friendly. Good choice of options at breakfast including lacto free/gluten free. Pool area very nice with plenty of loungers. Spa is heavenly! All in all a very nice stay in Estoril and we will definitely return.

"Lovely hotel in quiet surroundings"
The hotel opens on to the golf course and is surrounded by pine woods so is very peaceful. The staff are very helpful and polite. The hotel is popular with young families so it could get a bit busy round the pool and at breakfast time. The fixed price dinners are good value and there is live music. The only disadvantage of the location is the distance to Cascais - the hotel only provides a minibus service into the town three times per day. We walked to Cascais and Guincho Beach a couple of times which were pleasant (but not short) walks.

"Nice hotel, friendly staff but beware of the noise"
Hotel has beautiful views over the Atlantic. However, it is right beside the main dual carriageway to Cascais which is very busy and noisy for most of the day and into the evening. Next door there is a development of flats in progress so drilling and building noise all day. Such a shame. Somewhere close behind the hotel is a dog which barks incessantly into the early hours of the morning. There is also a disco appx 1/2 mile away which pumps out loud music until 6am. The rooms are soundproofed so this does help but not a lot. You certainly can't sleep with your patio door open. Cleaning staff are inconsistent, some days no soaps were left, one day our room wasn't cleaned by 5:30pm and we had to call reception to sort it.Otherwise cleanliness is good. Breakfast has a very good selection of hot and cold dishes but seating is at a premium at busy times. Similarly sun loungers are difficult to get unless you adopt the 'towels out' first approach. All staff are helpful. Bar is very quiet. although 'entertainment' is listed at weekends this was dull to say the least - man on keyboard going through the motions. Mid week BBQ with traditional Portugese dancing looked fun alhtough we didn't go. Force 10 gales (it felt like) coming off the sea. Friendly shopkeeper in newsagents just outside hotel, good local knowledge.

Vila Gale Cascais

Rua Frei Nicolau de Oliveira, 80, Cascais - Map
Our holiday in Cascais was perfect! The hotel staff were friendly and efficient and our room was spacious and very clean indeed. The cocktails made by the bar staff were delicious and added greatly to our pre-dinner relax each evening. We were given lots of advice about trips and getting out and about and the hotel staff organised a private mini bus for us to have a fantastic day trip to Sintra which was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vila Gale and will certainly be back. Thank you to the whole team.

"Lovely Boutique hotel"
Having stayed here twice before, I knew what to expect. There have been a few changes, but overall it is just as good as I remembered. On the plus side the overall facilities and room are of a high quality. The shower in my room was excellent, and the outside terrace was most welcome as it had sun and shade in the evenings for cocktail hour. The grounds are beautiful and well tended. The choices of food at lunchtime are however quite poor; you are stuck with sushi, a full restaurant menu, or a choice of bar 'snacks'; pretty poor selection and overpriced. This needs more choice and more salads/bigger portions. The prawns for 25 euros was a particularly expensive dish for just 6 or 7 prawns and no vegetables or other accompaniment. We had issues with quality too, with chips arriving cold and soggy, and toasted sandwiches rock solid, having been left to keep hot under a grill. The pool is so cold it is virtually unusable. The practice of reserving the cabanas solely for the suites makes sense at the start of the day but once it was clear that no-one wanted to use them, they should have been released. All three were empty at least three days we were there. The umbrellas are a bit too big meaning lots of moving around to get the optimal sun/shade combo! I last stayed here two years ago, and the menu at The Mix is virtually identical. The bar is quite expensive; it would be nice to have special offers such as happy hour 2 for 1 offers for residents earlier in the evening.

Cascais is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cascais, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cascais hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
