the property of the cottage was a little run down, jacuzzi tub on 2d floor didnt work! thats why i was very disappointed, the only thing that we really liked was breakfast, people and scenery!! way too expensive!

The room was terrible. There was an overpowering smell of air freshener that permeated the room, including the bedding. During the middle of the night, a panel spontaneously fell off the wall startling us both (see photo). It exposed a void in the wall containing what appeared to be electrical connections that do not meet code. We told the desk clerk at checkout who appeared to be less than concerned about our experience. Given the recent fire on the island, I would think electrical connections like those in the photo would be corrected! The shared bathroom was not very clean and extremely dated. Given the significant fee for the night, we expected a MUCH better experience. We would likely not consider staying at the property again. I will say our friends stayed at the Eureka at the same expense and had a significantly better experience.

We have absolutely no complaints. Loved everything about our stay at 1661 Inn and the staff. The owner came around at the champagne breakfast with beautiful unique foods to try, incredible flowers. I highly recommend it.

Rita, the Innkeeper and her staffs were excellent. The food was excellent and staffs were polite and always willing to help. We will definitely go back to block island and see Rita again. I highly recommend the 1661 and please don’t skip the breakfast, it’s to die for!!

Room was too small and got. We were warned about the shared bathroom but expected cleaning. Also expected help with suitcase to 2nd floor after telling the man I had a bad shoulder. Instead I was told “it’s only one fight”. You are WAY too expensive for that treatment.
