"What a nice place"
This is at the end of the main path which makes it the best place to be. Quiet peaceful and beautiful. The management team is what makes this over the top 5 star, they go out of their way to help arrange anything. I was really pleased with overall experience.

"Excellent hotel with great service. But Expensive."
The staff at Discovery Shores are amazing. Ultra-awesome service in everything they do. Great facilities, though definitely not 5-star. Solid 4-star. The gym is small, but is equipped with free weights (something I look for). None of the rooms are oceanfront, and except for the penthouse, none of the rooms have ocean views, which is odd. I'm not sure why they designed it that way. I would have preferred to look at the ocean, rather than the pool. The biggest negative is the price of on-site food and beverages. $5 for a bottle of water?!? To put that in perspective, it costs $2 for a beer two doors down at a nice bar. Their prices are way out of alignment with the community they're in, so we rarely ate or drank there, which is a shame.

"Well presented hotel across from the beach"
Nice hotel with a distinctive Filipino decor and across from the beach. Central location and amongst a variety of good eating places. Staff are excellent and always pleased to help. Internet is poor most of the time and some minor upgrades to bathroom are needed.

"great location. Has potential but is poorly run"
Nice enough rooms. Beware when booking rooms. I booked premier suite which was situated at front of building. When we checked in we were told that live band plays every night outside our window every night until midnight. This meant that by the time people left the beach it was around 130am. This should have been listed in the room item description as their only 2 premier suite rooms are located at the front of the hotel. So it's not very relaxing at night. You get no sleep when in these rooms. Spa bath jets were full of dirt and leaves which was disgusting. Showers have no pressure and very limited hot water. Breakfast buffet is terrible. We went to hennan garden resort for breakfast buffet instead. Rooftop pool has a swim up pool bar but it still hasn't been completed from when we first stayed here in 2013. So it's quite sad that they have not done this yet. It's just an empty shell of where a bar should be. Staff are nice and the stay there is ok. But beware when you book. Sadly we won't stay at Boracay uptown again. The hotel has a lot of potential but can see that it's not managed or run very well. Hennan garden resort is just up the beach a bit and is much nicer for only a tiny bit more cost.

"Just what we needed"
Communication before arrival was excellent and we booked a transfer through them prior with ease. The hotels location is excellent with an easy 3 minute walk to the beach front and boracay strip. The staff throughout the whole stay couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The breakfast had great options each morning and very good quality. There is noise from construction next door but that is to be expected with the rise of boracay. The private beach is good, however could do with a few more beds and maybe a little more spread out. Our premiere room was spacious and clean. Finally the bar was excellent and well priced we ended up enjoying plenty of cocktails there as one of the staff named Ariel definatley makes the best cocktails we could find on the island!

Balabag is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Balabag, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Balabag hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
