We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Athens Gate Hotel! The location is unbeatable — literally steps away from the Acropolis entrance and within easy walking distance to the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, Monastiraki, Temple of Zeus, and most major cultural sites. We didn’t need to use public transport at all during our time in Athens. The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable, with great views of the Acropolis from higher floors. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone we met — from reception to housekeeping to breakfast team — was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Special thanks for the warm smiles and great local recommendations!

Air conditioning was not available and room was uncomfortably warm. When we called to ask if A/C could be turned on staff said it was not available this time of the year and suggested we open door to balcony to let cool air in. This then caused next problem of car and motor bike noise all night from main busy street below. Our first sleep experience in Greece after international flight was terrible as a result.

Our room was beautiful. If you can get room 701, go for it. The balcony wraps from the front to the back and we had an unobstructed view of Zeus' temple and the Acropolis. The room had a sitting area with two chairs and the bedroom was separate. The only issue I had, and this is because I'm a picky sleeper, it the pillows were a little to full for my liking. I would have preferred a softer feather pillow. Breakfast was delicious and the view is priceless. We ate dinner at the restaurant the night we arrived and it was very delicious, the shrimp pasta was very good. The location of this hotel is also very desirable, with the hop-on-hop off stop about 200 feet away, the Acropolis is a short less than five minute walk, and there's access to the metro system about three minutes walk. Also there are plenty of restaurants and shops just around the corner on the walk to both the metro and Acropolis. We had a wonderful time and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here on any future trips.

Everything was absolutely amazing in this hotel the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The location was perfect walking distance to shops restaurants you name it. It’s close but as if that wasn’t enough. The hotel room and beds were very comfortable not to mention the amazing buffet breakfast and the staff that serves it. What could be better than greeting each day with a beautiful view of the Acropolis I ask? Maybe ending each evening with a lit view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant! We thoroughly and completely enjoyed our day and can’t wait to go back

1. Room was spectacular with a balcony view of the Olympia Zeus Temple Grounds across the street. 2. Every staff member was exceptionally kind, warm, welcoming and helpful. 3. The rooftop restaurant is a magical visual tour de force with the cuisine chops to match! Evening views of an uplit Parthenon, anyone? 4. The perfect launchpad for countless excursions. Mere steps from 2 major tour companies! So the meeting points to head to island-hop or head to Meteora, etc were super accessible! 5. A quick jaunt to the markets, many fabulous restaurants, the park and shopping galore!

Convienent location and walkable to most historic locations, great breakfast, pleasant staff, ok room. For the price, it could have been a lot nicer. The baseboards were falling off and it was dated. It's very loud so be prepared for that. It's on a super busy road with lots of loud traffic. The parking they advertise isn’t ideal. There are a few tiny spaces up front and they say they have some else where but if you have anything bigger than a small car, you cant park your car there. So the parking isn't entirely as advertised but if you're lucky enough to get one of the spots, it's great! We parked right up front and it was wonderful.
