"Nice hotel, but a bit noisy on first floor"
We had a good experience. The room is big and very comfortable, it is in a good central location and the breakfast is the standard in Iceland. The only little problem was with the noise coming from the bar by the lobby of the hotel, which disturbed us a little (if you want a more silent room, do not stay on first floor).

"Good hotel 10 mins walk to centre of town"
We had the upgraded double room, lots of space, and view over snow covered mountains behind the town. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night which was also good.

"Highly Recommend!"
My friend and I stayed here for three nights and throughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The location is great for downtown Akureyri, it is less then a five minute walk to get to most of the shopping and restaurants. It is self check in and we found the directions to be very clear. We did call the manager a couple times for various questions and we found them to be very prompt and helpful. Due to bad weather our flight to Reykavik was cancelled, they were extremely accommodating and let us check back in and stay an extra night. I would note that at the location we were at, there was no elevator...just something to keep in mind when packing. I would highly recommend staying here.

"Perfect place to stay in Akureyri!"
The hotel could not be more central - literally in the middle of the town square. Although it is called a guesthouse, it has more of a hostel feel with shared bathrooms and facilities, but it was all impeccably clean. We requested a double bed, but received two twins (seems to be quite common in Iceland); however it was easy to put them together and make it in a very comfortable double bed for me and my husband. It was the best value of any of the places we stayed in Iceland.

"Beautiful Location, Comfy Hotel"
Very pleased with the comfortable room. I arrived late after a long drive and it was a relief to have a warm shower and bed. The hotel was fairly quiet until people started moving around in the morning. The setting was lovely, with a small farm surrounding the place, a view of the water, and mountains rising beyond - I took my cup of coffee outside with me in the morning to admire it all. The staff was very helpful and arranged a whale-watching tour at the last-minute for me (which was a fantastic experience and I was lucky enough to see eleven humpbacks!). Only a short drive to charming Akureyri.

"Comfortable "
Nice place. Not close to the city, but good location. Smells like horses, which some might find offensive but it's Iceland. Staff wasn't able to help when crazy guests were taking thousands of pictures and screaming about the northern lights in front of the property. Staff leaves at 11:30 pm and I was told to ask them to be quiet myself.

Akureyri is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Akureyri, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Akureyri hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
