Great hotel but more relevant for business travellers
We stayed here as a part of the business trip.Excellent service and the best past is amazing staff! The rooms are nice and clean and the housekeeping staff take good care of you. We also dined at the michelin star restaurant and the food was high quality. The beach is around 20-25 mins walk, and the main pier is almost an hour's walk. The hotel is only 20 mins or so from the airport, so great in terms of proximity. Would stay here again for business trips, but more likely to get a hotel closer to the beach if I return for personal vacation!

Quintessential Cali!
In a word....WOW! The Ritz goes first class all the way here! Travelled with the husband and kids (16 and 12) and used as home base for first trip to Cali. Location was perfect...about 20-25 minutes from LAX and hustle and bustle. A nice, quiet retreat! Our double room was HUGE and had lots of place to spread out. The balcony overlooked the gorgeous marina (check out the photo). Room furnishings and sleep quality of mattresses were superb! Wonderful dining and delicious breakfast buffet with quality choices could be enjoyed out on the patio, watching the boats come in. Absolutely loved the bathroom toiletries...beautiful quality and scent. Housekeeping and service was top-notch! What else can I say? Experience it for yourself....California <3!

Exceeded expectations!
I just spent four nights at this lovely hotel visiting my LA based daughter. The service and amenities were absolutely top notch, and the friendly staff made the trip a pleasure. Jennifer at the front desk and Sonia at the 11th floor lounge went out of their way to make the visit pleasant. I will be back!

Great view, good location, spacious room- with a price
Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey had very large room, great view from mine of a harbor. One of the larger rooms I've had in a while. Large bath as well. I was there at conference in the hotel, so location was excellent. Good for running as well, just follow the water, you can get in as many miles as you like without traffic. Decent restaurants nearby. The lobby bar area with fireplace was nice for a nightcap. You do pay for all of this - $293 with tax for one night, and that was NOT the weekend rate.

An excellent experience!
Wow. The staff, amenities, and quality of this hotel are among the best in the world. We were thrilled. Of course, the reviews that say this property is slightly "dated" might have some merit. But, not every great hotel is brand new. Every small detail is thought through at this wonderful hotel. We particularly enjoyed the highly outgoing and friendly valets who brought around our car every day. They were endearing young men who clearly knew how to make guests feel pampered. NO negatives about this experience. Only superlatives. Make this your place to stay in western Los Angeles and you won't be disappointed.
