A GOOD TRIP.
This hotel is pretty well what most guests have already articulated. Rooms were clean and fresh towels every day; shower fine. Restaurant was 'cosy' for breakfast and dinner and sometimes the service a bit hit and miss but no-body starved! We were pleased with the couple on our designated table (usually for 4) but it could have been different. The bar area and seating are 'soulless' and needs to be addressed. Big plus point is the hotel is close to the town and the ammenties. A lovely town and hotel is well positioned to enjoy the various treasures that are available in southern Italy. We went on a tour with Riviera which included trips out to the sites you would expect to see and Adrian our rep was excellent. If you decide to hire a car, suggest you look first to where you can park it. Still, overall, good hotel at the price we paid and trips with Riviera.

Great Hotel with Huge Room in Sorrento
What a great hotel! We were here for two nights in October 2012 and it was my favorite hotel of the entire two-week trip.We were in a street-side room in the "annex like" building. The street was a bit noisy, but worth it for the views of Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius! The room was large with a twin and double beds (both typically hard as rocks), TV, large desk, chest of drawers and two (yes, two!) small balconies. One overlooked the main road and the other overlooked a very nice pool.The bathroom was also very large and colorful, with a decent-sized shower. The entire room was kept very clean.Though we didn't partake, there was a band with dancing at the pool one night. There also was a comically large room with plenty of couches where there were often people chatting. Also a tiny bar in that room, presided over by the owner's wife the day we walked through.The front desk people (especially at night) were extremely helpful. Good tips on places to eat, quickly got us extra towels, etc. The breakfast was alright, serving the typical breakfast food. One standout was the blood orange juice, though.Convenient walk to town for shopping or dinner, though it's best to take a cab from the train station if you have luggage.

Very small single beds and poor food
I stayed in this hotel for seven nights while on a Riviera holiday. The staff were friendly enough, but the twin beds were children's width rather than adults, and the food was rather poor. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had in any hotel, and I am very well travelled.

Friendly hotel
We stayed at Villa Maria for only one night before going to Capri. In fact I was worried of leaving the rented car in Naples and did not feel like going with all my luggage to Capri (we are a family of 5 people) because we had decided to spend the night there as well. I found this hotel quite friendly with a lovely view. Plus, it was full of senior italians that spent part of the evening dansing to a piano in the lobby while I connected internet. Found it quite fun! Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast the usual italian self service style. Staff let us leave our luggage there and the car slept in the front street . When we came back the following day, everything was ok.

Where we always stay in Sorrento
Hotel Villa Maria is where we always stay in Sorrento. Great location as most of Sorrento is a short walk from the hotel. Yet very quiet at night. Always friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Rooms are well cared for and clean. We are always made to feel welcome when we arrive. The staff does an excellent job. Breakfast is always good. The dinning room is in good hands and well cared for by the same gentlemen going back to our first visit 10 years ago.
