The Quad, formerly the Imperial Palace, is in the midst of a problematic renovation, but it is not in any way as bad as some reviews have suggested. My partner and I stayed for a weekend, and we found a number of good things: clean, comfortable room and a clean, serviceable bathroom with good supplies; clean, if well-worn, hallways; friendly and helpful staff; a nice coffee shop (Betty's) on the main floor but providing good coffee, pastries, salads and bagels; a dated but working TV with lots of free channels; an excellent location on the Strip and connected to the monorail system; the fascinating Auto Collection, available t guests for free viewing on the top floor. But there are some really annoying elements of the renovation and the remaining parts of the old I.P.: The registration desk is impossibly crowded, with no place for guests to sit and wait, and registering guests lined up along an already narrow walkway - regardless of renovation plans, this kind of first impression of the hotel should not happen and should be immediately rethought; there should be no resort fee for this level of facility, and yet there is a mandatory $10 per night plus tax - there are indeed resorts that justify a special fee in Vegas, but this is not one of them; the balcony out side of our room, which was accessible through a sliding door, was thick with bird droppings - a real public health issue which should be attended to at once.On the whole it looks as if the Quad will become an attractive venue on the Strip. But it also seems that the planning process is flawed and perhaps limited by cost. We hope to investigate it at a later time, because it could be a good and moderately priced Strip venue, but only if the renovation is given more thought and common sense.

This was frankly the worst and most disgusting accommodation we have ever stayed at. The whole building was filthy, the walls were dirty especially the bathroom, the carpets were stained and dirty in the rooms, halls and the foyer and pretty much everywhere reeked of cigarettes and filth. The balcony door barely opened or closed again. We were on the 12th floor and we could still clearly hear the music and noise from the bar next door until about 4am in the morning, with all the windows, doors and curtains closed. We had a look around at the other hotels on the Strip before we moved downtown, and I would honestly say you could stay ANYWHERE else and have a better experience. Only plus were the front desk staff were competent and relatively efficient given the number of people they have to check in and deal with.

After reading the reviews on this hotel I wasn't expecting much so I went with an open mind. Hey as long as you have a clean place to sleep thats all you need cause who really spends time in their hotel room anyway when your in Vegas!! This was my first time to Vegas and I can say this hotel was fine despite what the other reviews say. We arrived on Friday April 12th and checked in around 5:30 p.m. and had no problems checking in at all. The check in desk was fully staffed so the line went pretty quick. The lady who checked us in was very friendly. We did try to get an upgraded room but they didn't have any. This hotel is very old and outdated so if you care about being in something modern then this hotel isn't for you. This hotel is under construction so at first it was a little confusing trying to get onto the strip but there are sign's posted or any of the hotel staff are happy to help. We were there on a weekend so no construction was going on at the time. However, we left on Monday at 6:30 am and they were already jack hammering but we didn't hear any noise from our hotel room. We stayed in room 15130 on the 15th floor in tower one and the room was clean. The view wasn't the greatest as we could see the back of Harrah's but if you look off to the right you could see the mountains. We had no problems with the elevators at all. They went pretty quick and we always got to where we wanted to go without any major waits. The hotel room is nothing fancy....like I said before it is very outdated and the floor had some wear and tear. The beds were comfy and the hotel was quiet. The maids who cleaned the room were very friendly and asked us if we had any issue's with our room before we headed out one morning. For some reason our bathtub wasn't draining so we mentioned that to the maid and she said she noticed that when cleaning the room before we arrived, which got me thinking why didn't they do it before we checked in. But it just so happened that the plumber was on our floor at that time so he came right away and snaked the drain so it was fine after that. The casino in the hotel is bright and new which was refreshing. I am a none smoker and can't stand the smell of smoke but for a place where people were smoking everywhere it is well vented and I hardly noticed the smoke. On Saturday afternoon we decided to check the pool out and catch some sun but before we went to the pool we went to Fat Tuesday's on the main floor of the hotel to load up on a big frozen margarita to take to the pool as it was hot outside. When we got into the pool the life guard chased us down only to tell us that we weren't allowed outside food or drink. That kinds ticked me off cause we just went and spent money on these huge margaritas and I wasn't about to let them go to waste so we ended up going back to our room and never went to the pool. It would of been nice if somewhere they had told us that when we checked in or had a little brochure on the hotel. So if your heading to the pool remember that you can't bring any outside food or drink. This hotel is in a great location on the strip. Our taxi driver said that he seen the plans for the new hotel and it's going to be nice. He said it's supposed to be completed in 2014. I read online on the VegasChatter that the hotel rooms are not going to be included in the renovations which is sad cause they definitely need updating badly. The hall ways need new carpet and the elevators need an overhaul too. If you not fussy on room decor or the carpets being worn out then this hotel is a good bargain. If you want fancy or carpet that doesn't have stains then stay somewhere else. I happened to have friends staying at Treasure Island the same weekend so I got to check out their rooms and they were super nice. Would I stay here again..probably not because I'd want to check out other options but I wouldn't be apposed to staying here again.

I've been staying at The Imperial Palace now known as The Quad for over 30 years. Even though this is a older hotel it is one of the best to stay at. The employees are so friendly and helpful. They have renovated the casino area, giving more room for slot machines and card tables. They have a bar inside the slot floor. So if you are not looking for fancy this is the only hotel to stay at on the strip. It is centrally located on the strip. Thank You Quad for always being so friendly and helpful.

This trip to Vegas was for a birthday celebration and we probably picked one of the most expensive weekends in April. We chose The Quad due to the price of the room over the weekend compared to other surrounding hotels and the location. The Quad is right across the street from Caesars Palace and next door to Harrah¿¿¿s. This hotel used to be Imperial Palace and is currently undergoing major renovation.The hotel is half under construction but I do have to say that for the unveiled new areas, it looks amazingly good. The only way to get to the hotel via car is from the back area and the drive is pretty confusing. I took Koval until I found a sign directing me to Harrah and from there you can find your way to The Quad. The parking garage is dark and older and has not been upgraded and I hope they figure out a better way to arrive to the hotel once they finish the renovations.We had chosen a deluxe room and it was obvious that the hotel had not upgraded the room yet. The furniture was very outdated and tired. The beds were not horrible though, not very fancy but not uncomfortable at all. We had a little balcony which was nice at first to be able to stand outside and enjoy the weather but it was quickly a downfall as the night progressed. In the middle of the night, people would hang outside on their balconies hollering and yelling to other people hanging out on their balconies. If you want to sleep, bring earplugs.I was given an internet access code when I checked in but did not bring a computer with me this time so I was unable to see if their internet was useable. There was no gym but I¿¿¿m hoping they choose to add one in after the renovations are complete.I highly suggest going to the Hash House a Go Go restaurant inside the hotel. The wait was a bit long for breakfast but the food portions are humongous. It is open 24 hours so it¿¿¿s nice to have the option for food at any time when you come back to your hotel.The Las Vegas monorail does stop at this location that it shares with Harrah¿¿¿s and I did not use the bus system this time but this hotel is fairly walkable to many of the big casinos. The casino itself is not large but they have definitely added new touches to the casino floor first.Checking out was very efficient. There was a gentleman standing next to the express key drop box and would ask you for your last name and room number, type it in on his tablet and check you out as your dropped your keycard.I would come back after they finished their renovations and see how they did but I would definitely park my car and leave it instead of driving it in and out of this hotel because it was much more of a hassle to park here. Also, since the back way of the hotel is the only way to access it ¿¿¿ taxi fees will be higher also.
