Well priced and comfortable

Business yes, personal... Probably not
The room was neat, tidy, and comfortable and would definitely come back again based on the room alone, but only for business. This is largely because if work is paying for the second rate breakfast, Terrible coffee and cafe like conditions then that's fine but I would hate to pay it myself. The staff we incredibly helpful and nice but they are being let down by motel conditions. $19 for pre-paid breakfast that doesn't include real coffees that you pay extra for? Disappointing. Expensive breakfast but you collect your own knives and forks, there is no salt an pepper on the table, and the condiments etc are often requiring refilling? Not really good enough. This could be a great place to stay as its a little different to other spots but it really needs an overhaul of the kitchens to produce better quality food, look at the way service is deliver (the staff are keen and up for it) and just finish things off and get better value for the high prices. But at the end of the day it was clean, comfy and fine for a business stay.

Good bed, reasonable price, won't come back though
Booked this hotel since close to Fenner Hall, where our child lives. Reasonably priced, good room with good bed. However... Even with the window closed en air conditioning on, the talking people in the car park under our window woke us up, over and over, the water pipes had a fantastic high pitched sound to it, so we woke up from every toilet flush or shower in the rooms surrounding us. During dinner one of the palm trees decided to drop a leaf or two that landed on our neighbours table. The atrium is really nice and green, but does need some maintenance! Service was great, no problems there, but in the end, we want a good nights sleep, hence we won't go back here.

Well priced and comfortable
We booked this hotel on hotelclub and got an amazing rate, $100 pn (direct with hotel could not match rate). For this price we werent expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and furnished with modern fittings. It was in a great location and included free secure parking. I wouldnt recommend the breakfast and a little noisy from others showering, but overall definately worth the price we got it for !

Clean & comfortable rooms in convenient location.
Stayed two nights at this hotel earlier this week and I was impressed all round. Checkin was efficient and helpful, being offered an upgrade from my room to a one bedroom apartment at a reduced cost. So glad I took up the offer, the apartment gave my son and I a bit more space and privacy... plus it had two TVs - which was great, not being into cartoons and all. We dined in the evening with friends at the hotel's restaurant & it was also impressive. The food was awesome as was the service. Just a word of caution, the restaurant ambiance could be described as 'romantic'... which is great if that is what you are there for.. but something to be mindful of if you're meeting up with plutonic friends or business colleagues. Overall though, the restaurant is great.The Pavilion on Northbourne is also well located on the main street of Canberra and is a good base to attend to your reasons for being in Canberra; business or leisure.This is a hotel I can recommend to others for a pleasant & comfortable stay.

Not so good this time
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as we had stayed here a number of times before. The location is excellent and the restaurant and bar are equally good. This time, however, we had an experience which will make sure that we stay elsewhere in the future. The room we were given was small, the bathroom was tiny and a very odd shape and when we arrived the receptionist was very grumpy. Trying to access the free parking is also a joke as no ones card works the first time and you become quite frustrated, eventually pressing the help button. They don't even ask who you are, they just open the gate which shows this happens quite frequently. There is a fridge in the room but if you would like to partake of the mini bar you have to order one of the packages, which are very limited, and wait for this to be delivered. It seems the trust has been removed. The palm tree on the upper level needs a good dusting too. Sorry, we will try elsewhere next time
