Hotwire offers seven ways to search for a hotel in your preferred location:

1. Search by city name. Enter the full city name and state abbreviation (for example, "San Francisco, CA"). Or, select from a list of cities by clicking the "See all cities" link below the search field.
2. Search by airport. Enter the three-letter airport code (for example, "SFO" for San Francisco International) or airport name (for example, "La Guardia") of any airport in the city's metropolitan area. The airport you choose will be the center of your search.
3. Search by address or landmark. Enter an address or landmark in the city area where you would like stay. Keep in mind the search will center around that location.
4. Search by zip code. Enter a five-digit U.S. zip code or six-digit Canadian postal code to search for a specific city area.
5. Search by drive trip distance. Select the "Hotels" tab at the top of the page and click "Go Local Search" to find the best deals within 250 miles. Then, enter the city, airport or zip code of your starting destination, and how far you're willing to drive. We'll show you popular destinations within your driving distance.
6. Refine your search by neighborhood. Once you’ve completed a hotel search, check the boxes next to those areas you’d like to see on an interactive map. This action will automatically update your search results to show hotel deals in the checked areas. See also How do I use the interactive map to help me find hotels?
7. Find hotels closest to your destination. Once you’ve completed a hotel search, you can then enter a new location and find hotels nearby.
   
   

   If you are viewing a hotel results page:

   Simply enter this location in the “Address and landmark search” on the left side of the page. If you’d like to plot this location on the map, check the box next to “Show on map.” Then click “Go” to sort your original hotel results by distance from the new location.

   If you are viewing a map page:

   Enter this location into the search bar titled “See a location on the map.” Then click the “Show on map” button to plot this location on the map. To sort your hotel results by distance from your new search location, click the “Sort hotels from here” button at the top of the page.
