Palm Motel Waihi

123 Parry Palm Avenue, Waihi - Map
"Satisfactory for a one night stop over"
Palm Motel was for us a mixed experience. Check in was smooth and efficient and parking directly outside the room a bonus. The actual room was of a reasonable size (for two) and very clean with crisp bed linen no hidden dust pockets. For us (and I stress us) there were a couple of significant negatives. As a back sufferer there was no comfortable seating. You either had to prop yourself up on the bed or suffer the dining chairs, straight from the Spanish Inquisition. Secondly, there was the constant rubble of logging trucks on the nearby road. Not really annoying, just an irritating. Given the above, we thought the room rate acceptable for a full occupancy of 4 but expensive (compared to others we have stayed at) for 2

Southpacific Motel and Conference Centre

Cnr Port Rd & Mayfair Ave, Whangamata - Map
When we checked in I was surprised to see no AC and a queen sized bed in my room that was supposed to be king. It was a very warm day, there are no screens on the windows so I wasn't comfortable opening them at night. The motel operator found us another room but I had to pay more for it. The AC didn't work in the new room either but we made do. Also the kitchen was closed during our stay.

"Comfortable B&B in the heart of Paeroa"
Tricia and Mike are an incredibly friendly couple who made us feel very welcome in their home. They went out of their way to make our stay warm and pleasant. They enjoyed sharing their homemade jams, stewed fruit and yogurt with us - and even some plant clippings! I think we have found not only an affordable B&B for any future visits to the Bay Of Plenty, but new found friends :)

"Nice park with easy access to beach"
Really nice place, was very quiet at the time of year we visited. Very pleasant staff, everything nice and clean and a lovely location. WiFi wasn't the best, but we got it for free, so can't complain! Really nice place, would go back but I bet it gets really busy in peak season. Choose your time and enjoy it!

Waihi is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Waihi, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Waihi hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
