"Convenient to Ross University and the beach"
Quaint cottages steps from the beach. The cottages are very rustic and have nice kitchen amenities which allows you to buy your own groceries and have drinks and snacks in the room. The beds are not particularly comfortable, especially after about day 3 and there are no chairs on the beach. The lounge chairs by the room are the cheap plastic chairs that you can lay on for about 30 minutes before your back hurts. The beach itself is very pretty and close. Super friendly staff and good security. If you are looking for pretty and convenient but not luxury this is a decent place to stay.

"Gorgeous, but promised ammenities missing"
Room was really big and the view was great. Tons of hot water in the shower. Food was yummy...what we had of it. We chose this place based largely on the recommendations for the in-hosue chef, but he only cooked one dinner of the 3 nights we were there. He was gone the other two. The manager drove us to a different hotel to eat one night, and sent us across the street to the pallet bar for the other. Why did we choose this place based on the chef if we weren't going to get him. Disappointing.

"a special experience"
This is a small yet amazing Hotel in the middle of the rainforest, run by Guadalupe and Martin, with sustainability and energy autonomy a prime concern, whilst offering comfortable and spacious accommodation for their guests. Guest houses fit well into the forest, with privacy, and a common area for meals, reading and socialising. Guadalupe cooks fantastic and varied meals, Martin always looking to improve facilities, both create a really warm atmosphere and family feel. We stayed a week relaxing and exploring the surrounding area. Be ready to get wet, bring some warm clothes as its in an elevated position, and a 4x4 to access the hotel and be able to go exploring.

"A little disappointing, but a wonderful location"
I am really torn about this hotel. On the positive side, I found the area to be wonderful and there was something just really relaxing and clear about the air in Calibishie. It was great to have all the windows and doors open and just experience the atmosphere of the island, and the room was very conducive to that. In general, the room itself was really nice. Wonderful hot shower, lovely bathroom, nice kitchen area, and I thought it was nice that the bed was equipped with a mosquito net. Also, the owners were very friendly; so I am not so sure about the reviews that say otherwise. That being said, there were a few things that bothered me about this place. First, their internet was unusable for half of my stay, and the TV seemed to have all of five working channels. During the day, I don't see this as being a problem, but at night I like to relax and catch up with friends with the friendly sounds of the TV in the background- and for the amount I paid I don't think that that is so much to ask for. More importantly, however, I didn't find the staff to be all that welcoming or helpful. At one point, I stood at the front desk for about 5 minutes waiting for some help, and eventually I had to actually search out a staff member myself. She was sitting in the Staff Only Area laughing and talking with her friends.

"Nice quiet hotel close to beach and scuba diving"
We stayed 8 nights in this very well run hotel, it was very well organised, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant overlooking the sea, 5 min walk to a quiet sandy beach frequented by Pelicans, Iguanas and Fregatebirds. Down there is also a beach bar and a very good diving facility ('east carib dive'). It's a little off the main tourist areas so a car is certainly useful to have to be able to explore the island. Rooms are tidy, not big, but clean and with mosquito screens and ceiling fans. Reasonably priced, owners Stefan and Anette doing their utmost to make you feel welcome and will help with all sorts of aspects of your stay, so it's well worth it !

"Home away from home"
Ken and his staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was stress free. Our needs were anticipated and they were happy to assist us morning, day and evening, even when we were not on the premises. Prior to our arrival Ken arranged airport transportation. We decided to rent a vehicle and Ken arranged a car for us which was delivered to our front door. The accommodations were marvelous. Our chef went out of her way to prepare the lionfish that we caught. Even though it wasn't on the menu she prepared it exactly as requested. This required spices which she didn't have on hand but she was happy to obtain them just for us. We enjoyed watching the humming birds in the gardens while watching the sunrise over the ocean. We enjoyed sipping coffee while on the veranda in the evening with the gentle breeze swaying the palm trees. Each morning we were greeted with breakfast and a smile. Our room was impeccably maintained. The staff would stop by to say hello and ask about our day and plans. We felt like family not visitors. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Sincerely, Frank & Kelly (the water babies)

"Magical "
Very comfortable hotel in a quiet and natural environment. The quality of service is excellent, and the location for the Seaview room is magical. Could improve even more with a better phone connection, the sound quality is poor and even though we understand the importance of a well maintained garden, no need to have the gardener rake the leaves on your deck at 6 am. I'll come back to see the turtles

"Nice view of Portsmouth"
Was there to do a wedding. Hotel was ok. They dont serve lunch which was not good for us especially the time of year. The community seems to thrive on Ross University there and when they are not open (due to christmas break) everything seems to shut down and so are the restaurants since the students sustain it. So it was an inconvenience for us. The owner Lise is very nice, so are the staff. I guess if you travel any other time when school is in session you should be ok. Oh and hotel gives u a local cell phone while staying there.....it helps.

Vieille Case is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Vieille Case, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Vieille Case hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
