Great hotel with excellent service. Busy on the weekends so sometimes difficult for guests to make dinner reservations. Concierge suggested I eat outside the hotel. Ended up using room service. Otherwise great experience

"Good place within walking distance to Sights"
Great location and you're left mostly to yourself with rooms cleaned daily. The only spoiler in this place is to make sure you read the check in times as reception is closed from 9.30pm and without specially arranging a late check in you will be left without a room to check into. The hotel was very difficult to get hold of when I was trying to arrange a late check in, no response to various emails sent and you ended up to a voicemail box full message when trying to call. I ended up directly contacting Expedia as I couldnt get through and Expedia themselves found it difficult to contact finally sending them an email with myself cc'ed in. Expedia said to contact them if once I arrived I could not check in. Hotel finally responded to emails initially saying that I could not check in late and reception opens a 7am the next day. Then they saw the email from Expedia on my behalf and advised me I could check in late with no additional fees. Other than the check in stress, hotel was in a great location in Gamla Stan within walking distance to most sights and very clean and well kept. Barely interacted with hotel staff except on check in and check out. Staff on desk were friendly but still think this hotel needs to up its game on customer service in being available to queries and responding in a timely manner. Without Expedia's intervention, I think I could have been writing a very different review of this hotel!

"Take the boat!"
Elite Hotel Marina Tower is a very nice hotel cut off from Södermalm by a watery creek. There is no T-bana (metro) stop serving the neighbourhood and getting to the Henriksdals bus or light railway stops is quite a palava because of the steep hill and complex road layout at the top. Also both these services originate at Slussen, a place best avoided at the time of writing (and for some years to come by the look of it) because it's a massive building site. So, unless you can afford a taxi, the best way to arrive and depart from this hotel is the Sjövägen 80 water bus service from Nybroplan. If you’re arriving in the city at Stockholm Central station (you will be if you fly to Stockholm) 2 stops on the Tunnelbana or light rail takes you close to the Nybroplan quayside, then it's just 2 stops on the boat. You can do it in a single journey (30 krona) and it drops you right in front of the main entrance of the hotel. Armed with this knowledge, you can have a stress-free stay at the EHMT and enjoy the superb breakfast!

"Short stay but was perfect!"
We were traveling back home to USA and decided to stay by the airport and found this good deal on Expedia. Everything was perfect; the room was good size, was very quiet and clean! We also were able to take a free bus to the airport, which was very close.

"Lovely hotel"
The Birger Jarl is a well located very impressive hotel. Room was small but well set out and comfortable with everything to hand. Staff were brilliant - especially Per & Karin who helped me get the most out my stay. Breakfast buffet has to be mentioned - it was awesome. Even special diets well catered for. Just all in all a great base if you're visiting Stockholm.

"Fantastic hotel "
Beds were so comfy, we arrived at 8 am but room check in isn't until 3 pm, so went for breakfast - very reasonable - selection of cheeses, hams, eggs, bacon, beans, cereals, breads all very tasty. For 200 sek (~£20) check in at 9 am (after a night in an airport was so needed), room was basic but very clean and omg the beds were comfy - slept like a log, room was quiet too. Room very clean and modern (flat screen tv on wall). Wet room bathroom. Good powerful shower. Staff were so friendly and helpful and the free transfer to airport / train / bus station at any time during the day or night was amazing (you ring them and the they pick you up 10 mins later terminal 5 bus point 11). Can get to centre of Stockholm in 18 mins on fast train runs 24 hours a day usually every 15 mins. Free tea and coffee (also hot chocolate etc..) in reception again 24 - 7.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Vallingby, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Vallingby hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
