"Nice hotel right at the center of OSU"
This was a great hotel. The first night had my wife and I a little shaky because we were in a room on the first floor and the ac unit was not working well, seems like just the fan was working and the first night was miserably hot and that particular room does not have great sunlight and it smelled damp like it had bad airflow, I would recommend they fix the ac and clear up the damp mildew smell. Fortunately for my wife and I we were moved to another room on the 5th floor which was extremely better. Great views, nice kitchen area and the ac worked wonderfully. I was very pleased with the service and hospitality by the staff, this was my first time staying in a hotel in Accra, I usually stay with family but since this was my wife's first time I wanted her to be comfortable and they made sure we were well taken care of. This is a great boutique hotel tucked in the most happening place in Accra, and it looks like they are still developing the area specifically for tourist and the local Ghanaians. Be aware since this place is touristy it is very busy and they have a bunch of sales stalls lined on oxford street and everyone and their mom is trying to sell something, its cool for the first few days but after a while can become exhausting telling everyone no lol. Other than that I would recommend this hotel if this is your first time in Accra, Ghana.

"Nice hotel"
I stayed at Accra City Hotel for three nights for a work-related trip. The location is great. The hotel food was really quite pleasing along with hotel staff. The only thing I think needs improvement is the hotel internet. This is my third hotel in Accra and none of them have had what I would call very good internet.

"Pleasant stay"
You get what you pay for, and this is best value for money hotel in Accra. I have shopped around and stayed in a number of other more lavish/expensive hotels and it's really not worth paying so much money for a bed, aircon and a shower.

The African Regent Hotel

237-238 Airport West, Accra - Map

"Nice Hotel, Near the Airport"
I stayed at the African Regent in early July 2017 for a week. The hotel is nice, but not spectacular. The bathroom needs a redesign. In addition to the comment below, the step into the tub is very high, but the tub is shallow. That disparity makes balancing an issue when exiting the tub because you take a big step up and the bathroom floor is much lower than the floor of the tub. The bent towel rack shows it is used for balancing. The room safe was not screwed down and could be carried off. The housekeeping staff, instead of replenishing my towels, left me with fewer towels than I had initially. Housekeeping was strange regarding supplies. There was only one bar of soap that I needed to bring back-and-forth from the shower to the sink. Yes, there was liquid body soap, but no wash cloth with which to use it. There was no head towel either, just one towel for drying off after the shower and hand towel near the sink. When I checked out of my room, I informed the front desk I would take the airport shuttle at 19:00. I told them I would be spending the next several hours in the lobby. I was told to touch base with them again closer to departure. I touched base at 18:45, pointed out where I had been sitting for hours, was told they would call the shuttle, and that they would tell me when it arrives. At 19:20, I checked back regarding the shuttle. It had arrived and left and no one told me. To their credit, they got me a car to the airport so I didn't miss my flight.

Tema is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Tema, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Tema hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
