"Lovely hotel, Fantastic staff but very hilly!"
Pros: 1. The staff were lovely to the extreme. Always helpful, always polite and respectful (dare I say even loving but that is Greek people for you). 2. The accommodation was nice and clean. Served our purpose well. 3. The all inclusive bit was fine. Lots of food to choose from and generally it was decent food. Good cocktails on offer. The frappes (iced coffee) were a particular delight. Kids loved the ice cream on tap. 4. Sunbeds on the beach were plentiful and still available up to around 11am. Sunbeds by the pool were more in demand so get there before 10am. 5. Bus stop outside the hotel with the bus taking you into Corfu Town in about 20-30 mins depending on traffic. 6. Beach was ok. Not the best. Quite pebbly and the sand not the finest. But the water was warm and calm and I could have sat in it all day if I could. Cons: 1. e were placed right at the top of a steep hill which made walking up and down tiring and troublesome. There is a minivan that can take you up and down if you call the reception though and the two drivers were always happy to help. They were both fantastic and you never felt like you were putting them out. 2. I would have preferred more Greek food on offer. There were Italian nights. French nights. Asian nights. But I love my Greek food and when I travel to a country I want to do nothing but eat local food. But that is my preference. Not everyone will agree. Overall I would recommend but just be aware of the fact this hotel is on a hill

"Nice hotel with two small-medium sized beaches."
Overall, it is a nice hotel with a nice set up regarding the two small-medium sized beaches and one outdoor pool. Well kept as the cleaning crew does a good job and are very helpful. Some employees are not that friendly, but that is to be expected. I do have to say that Katerina Gkaitatzi, Guest Relations was amazing. She is very professional, kind, and goes above and beyond to help you. We had the misfortune of not receiving our luggage with us. Katerina was empathetic and supportive. I highly recommend Katerina and I applaud her high work ethics and dedication. Kontokali Bay is VERY LUCKY to have her on their team!

"Scenic hotel"
A clean and spacious hotel with scenic views of the mountains. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We stayed bed and breakfast, meals in the old town are plentiful and a 10-15 minute bus ride away.

"Excellent option for ferry connections"
I had stayed here before and was happy to book it again for the night before my morning ferry. If anything, I was even more pleased with this year's experience than with the previous one.

"First class hotel"
I would highly recommend this hotel, everything about it is fantastic, all the staff were so warm, friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the rooms were clean and tidy and the beds were turned down for you before bedtime, we ate out a couple of times, but it never met the standard of our restaurant so also ate there for the majority of the week, it has won hotel awards and I can see why and would be surprised if that doesn't continue, 100% we will be back

"Great hotel, cheap price"
We stayed twice at this hotel, it has quite basic facilities but the rooms are spacious enough, good bed/pillow with TV, Air conditioning, vanity area, closet, side tables/lamps and fridge. The bathrooms could use some improvement but in general the facilities are new and very clean, so it's ok. The plus side is that it has a free parking space for guests only 10m away and that each room has a patio or spacious balcony with chairs, table and hanger. In general we researched and visited/stayed in quite a few hotels in the area and this is by far the best option for the fraction of the price of what you would pay for this type of accommodation in Corfu/Benitses. Benitses area in general is overcrowded and with lots of small shops/restaurant that are not so well maintained. However you can find fabulous beaches within this area. We found out that the best beaches close to Benitses are at Perivolos area ( about 2km away). Or the more upscale places (not more expensive just better organized beaches, restaurants etc) are North from Corfu Town, (Dassia, Gouvia, Nisaki, up to AG. Stefanos are absolutely wonderful) We highly recommend Arches Hotel if you are staying in the Benitses area, or if you are going by car and will be using it as a point from where you can travel from during the day.

"Recent stay at the Alexandros. "
Our family of 4 stayed for 12 days at the Alexandros and returned yesterday 4/08/2015. We found the staff professional and pleasant and willing to help. The hotel is clean and spacious. Our bedroom for 4 people had 2 very large rooms and 2 balconies, with lots of storage space, despite us only paying for a standard room for 4. It was cleaned daily and we had a daily change of towels. We were all inclusive guests and thought the food was good. There was a good choice and the Greek food was really delicious- stuffed peppers , moussaka etc. Some guests did complain that they couldn't get chips and one Scottish bloke did start shouting at a poor, young Greek waiter because he said that his wife would only eat bread and butter if she couldn't get chips! Sure enough she was sitting forlorn with 2 pieces of bread and butter. If you have a more adventurous palate, Im sure you will find plenty to eat and enjoy. The only downside is that the hotel pool though large doesn't have enough space for all guests to have a sunbed, so the sunbed situation is a bit of a scrum. However there are beautiful little shingle coves and beaches all along that coastline- with very few people on them. The hotel doesn't feel 4 star but it is very good value for money and pleasant.

Skala is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Skala, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Skala hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
