"Petra, Beauty beyond words..."
The location of the hotel is hard to beat, as it is at the entrance of the park, there's another hotel across the street as well. The hotel's staff was VERY cold, unfriendly and it seemed bothered when we approached them, the only exception was a waiter we had, he was the complete opposite!! The room was "blah", we had a balcony that was empty, an the rest of the room felt unwelcoming, if not for the location, I am having a hard time justifying the price. I'd try the other hotel.

"You can't sleep any closer to Petra than this!"
Hands down the best location in relation to the visitors entrance of Petra......located a few steps from the hotel. You will appreciate this even more after a long day of walking in Petra itself. With that said, we were given a room that was probably the farthest away with lots of stairs to get to it. This hotel is probably best described as a higher end motel (I say this because most of the rooms have exterior doors) and based on our experience, I think you get what you pay for. PROS - Hotel Location; Price; Comfortable beds and spacious room; Extensive buffet breakfast included in price of room CONS - Attendant taking our bags from the car started dragging them in the parking lot rather than using the wheels and as a result damaged one of the bags; Front desk check-in was disorganized; After flushing the toilet, the water smelled like a sewer; Lots of stairs at the property; Despite having American coffee on the menu we were told they didn't have it and we were offered Nescafe instead - yet what we got was very thick, strong Arabic coffee; Decor is dated and a little tired. If you can overlook the cons then this is a good place to stay in Petra.

"Trip to Petra"
I did visit Petra & stayed at Petra Sella Hotel on 20th of April 2017, Good things - 1) Reception Welcome was good (received a Welcome Drink, which was really nice). 2) Wifi was provided as listed on the Invoice 3) Timely response @ Reception desk for queries 4) Room was Neat & Clean Improvements - Dinner Buffet was very poor. Not much dishes and they charged 24D's (12 x 2) for both of us. When requested for a small bottle of drinking water they asked for additional 2JD (4JD's for 2 Small Bottle of water). For a 12JD buffet, if a Drink is not included then its not for customer satisfaction - It's just Business. There was no 24 hours Check-in/Check-out. I checked in at 2pm and they asked me to check-out at 12. When requested for additional time they asked me to pay the full RENT. I offered upto 25JD's for 4 hours as my Bus was at 5pm they did not agree to Half rate and asked me to pay full rent. There was Shampoo and Bathing Soap in the Toilet. Requested for a sample Tooth Paste and the response I received was please buy it from the next shop. Suggestion - Please add a sample Tooth Paste and an Ear Bud in the room, so that the Guest wouldn't have to go a store searching for tooth paste for the next morning. Overall I would give 3.25 out of 5. Thanks, Anto

"Great location with outdated hotel"
The hotel is located close to Petra gate. The establishment is pretty old and might need a bit of renovation. Overall service is ok. Breakfast could use fresher items. For the price the overall experience could be a bit better. However it is one of the cheapest hotel available within proximity of the gate.

"Great views of nearby wadis"
Hotel is not bad, but it's isolated from the activities of the downtown area. Once you've checked in, you're pretty much stuck unless you have a car or a reliable means to get around -- no nearby restaurants, stores, or other attractions. On the other hand, the hotel offers nice views of the surrounding wadis and mountains.

"Great place in Petra!"
Only 27 dollars for a room, and for the buck, best hotel ever. The food was plentiful, delicious, and cheap. Great view from the terrace. Jane, Barbara, and everyone else was courteous, polite, and helpful. They even let us come back and hang out after we checked out to eat our lunch before heading home. I will definitely stay there again.

Shoubak is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Shoubak, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Shoubak hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
