"Not everything is explained up front."
I knew I was staying at a lower price range pension and got exactly what I paid for. I stayed 3 nights - 2 would have been sufficient. One day scuba (I'll review this later) one day driving around the island looking at all the sights one day killing time in town. The bungalow had no AC and only a regular fan. This was NOT enough to to combat the heat and it was too hot to sleep well. The kitchen was outside, adjacent to to the room. There were a lot of different kitchen utensils there, but some essentials were missing (dish towel, sugar, spices, etc). The dogs were nice and spent a good time keeping me company on the patio. The rooster made sure I knew when it was 4:30 - 5 AM. This is not a place for hanging out all day or sunbathing. Make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellent! With that all said, the owner/manager is a gem! He went to get the pizza I ordered the first night dinner and he let me use the pension's car to get to a store to buy water and other essentials. He also organized getting an affordable rental car (I felt trapped without transportation at this place). The scuba dives were pre-arranged and I experienced one of the best dives in my live. It felt like swimming in an aquarium stocked with blacktip sharks, grey sharks, mantas, turtles and the complement of other underwater creatures.

"Beautifully appointed rooms, but unbearably hot"
I enjoyed my stay at Le Perle de Tahaa, and was impressed with its luxurious well-appointed bungalows with modern furnishings. My room featured a stone sink and shower, mini kitchenette for preparing meals, and ultra-comfortable bedding. Ordinarily I would give this caliber of room 5-stars, but the temperature in the room was unbearably hot, despite the fan - I was sweating bullets within minutes. The owner, Roberto, is a friendly but to-the-point gentleman who takes pride in his hotel, but he would do well to install air conditioning in these bungalows - even on a pay-per-use coin operated system as used in some hotels in Australia. Powerful fans are installed in the bungalows, but they are of little use as they circulate the hot air - I only maintained comfort through repeated cold showers. With this slight alteration to the property, I believe it could compete with the best of hotels. The beach area by the lagoon was well-landscaped and relaxing, and the garden area features a wide variety of places to lounge and relax. I would recommend this hotel include transfers to and from the nearby pier (2 km, 20 minute walk), as the 1000 XPF price tag for the 3-minute drive is a bit steep - such inclusions go a long way in demonstrating excellent customer service. Roberto also offers reasonably priced island tours (5000 XPF, 5 hours) to vanilla plantations, pearl farm, and fruit orchards - I highly enjoyed his knowledgable guidance and would recommend the tour to visitors.

"Nice family run hotel"
The hotel is very nice. The hotel is situated about 40 minutes from the airport in a secluded part of the island. Access is by taxi (expensive)or hotel shuttle (half price of taxi but still expensive 90 euros for 2 to and fro) or you can rent a car. We only stayed 2 nights. We enjoyed our day trip to the motu and requested the picnic(a little pricey for 2 tuna sandwiches a fruit salad and a bottle water). the continental breakfasts were very good and the suppers were delicious...again a little pricey. all in all a pleasant stay.

"Exceptional in cleanliness and service"
Superb location, Food fresh and delicious, french cuisine in abundance. Hospitality excellent. Boat on premises for tours and fun excursions. Peaceful and private location on the water that was very clean and beautiful. Franck and Muriel (proprietors) made us feel at home. We would recommend this pension to anyone. Tahaa has a great view of Bora Bora and is quiet and relaxing. Kayaks and snorkeling equipment available for free. You need rubber shoes for the Coral Gardens as not to harm the coral reef. We can't wait to go back.

"This place is a paradise . "
The hotel is located on a key, in front of the island of Tahaa, lagoon in between. The facilities are very good for a hotel of bungalows over the water . The view is wonderful , the rooms are spacious and very well maintained. If you want to rest in a paradise, this is the place to go, a beautiful sea and good attention. Highly recommended.

Raiatea is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Raiatea, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Raiatea hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
