The air quality turned unhealthy for me during my trip in March to Quito. The charming (and paid for) VRBO I’d booked was in the old part of town, was perfect in every way EXCEPT it (and all surrounding properties) was heated with fireplaces. My asthma flared plus with the altitude & my breathing was seriously compromised. I moved to the GO Hotel because it had an enclosed HVAC system. I had to stay holed up for remaining 3 days of my trip. The GO had lovely views from a most commodious room. The bar and restaurants were wonderful. Staff were very nice. Even had a good little handicraft shop so I was able to get nice items since I couldn’t go outside to market. Breakfast was one of the nicest of anywhere I’ve stayed! All menu items were clearly marked Gluten Free (or not). And there were many gf options!!!
Since I was confined to property I spent a few hours in the spa getting a massage & facial. I highly recommend that too. Did not use pool or gym because I was having trouble breathing. But they looked nice. Hotel is really lovely.
