"History Views and Owners"
Stay in a slice of Queenstowns history. The views from this past managers palatial home cover most of Queenstown. Lovingly maintained it has kept most of its original aura and is a virtual museum of Queenstowns history. High ceilings, blackwood stairs and historical paintings/prints mean you cannot misinterpret what this building was and means to the community. It is iconic. Your hosts Steve and Karen are first class and are more than happy to share and explain the history with you.

"Nice motel in quiet Queenstown"
The motel is very nicely liking from the outside and cozy in the inside. It's very windy here during early spring and can hear the wind at night. The hotel is very clean, with electric blanket, microwave and basic cutlery. Value for money.

"Comfortable motel"
Good beds, a kitchenette, good heating and clean. Not seen often, but should be, was the pull out washing line over the shower. Very handy. The fridge was a good size too, with a big enough freezer for us, which actually froze. Too many motels (and especially hotels) have fridges with too small (or no) freezer, that freezes nothing. This motel's one worked well. Wi-fi worked. The only negative comment was that the hot water took a long time to arrive, but it did eventually arrive and then the shower was good.

"a comfy place to stay in the middle of nowhere"
this lodge was a pleasant surprise in the quiet Queenstown, esp when Straun was a major disappointment. loved the space. loved the shower. loved the bed. one of the few things that redeemed my wild west experience.

The Empire hotel is a very cheap backpacker type accommodation, central to all local amenities and attractions. The staff were nice and helpful, and the food was of top quality, however some things could be better priced.

"Great B&B."
Our large room was a lovely renovated one that still had the charm of yesteryear. The bed was extremely comfortable and the ensuite quite modern and well equipped. Breakfast was a DIY service in a large communal area with a good selection of cereals, jams, teas and coffees etc . You could also use the well equipped kitchen for other meal preparations if desired. The B&B was within a short walking distance from the main street of Queenstown and the railway station where the West Coast Wilderness day trips commence. The historic Empire hotel is just around the corner and serves a good meal. Although the wi-fi signal in our room was not reliable, this could be rectified by simply walking outside to next-door where the owner lived (and presumably where the wireless server was located).

Queenstown is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Queenstown, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Queenstown hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
