"Hut by the Sea "
I had a awesome time staying at Tropical Sands. Rudy and Kanoe are excellent hosts, friendly and very helpful giving me tips about what to do and not do. You can't swim in the sea but you can sit on the rocks and let the waves wash over you and watch the little fish and crabs. Very relaxing and quiet place to stay.. A little piece of Paradise. I used the local buses to get around the Island. I would recommend if staying a week to hire a car for a three days and for the two days or so use the buses to get a overview of the experience. There is eating places but spread out around the island. I found the cost of food to be expensive.. But most of the foods is imported that is why. I would bring more foods as you can.. dried foods such as instant potatoes packets, rice, noodle processed food stuff. Meat is same as NZ prices and is good prices to buy. I booked Koka Lagoon Cruise and Te Vara Nui Village experiences before leaving NZ and totally recommend to do both. When you arrive in Raratonga you need to confirm your booking and bring emails with you that state they have confirmed your bookings just in case. You need to do Punanga Nui market on Saturday great experience local foods and fresh fruit smoothies a must. With souviers etc I bought coconut soaps as presents much cheaper to buy there. Overall there isn't much to buy or shopping in Raratonga but it's more experiencing the cultural and people. I would recommend to wear your swimming under your clothes.

"Awesome Holiday Home for Large Family or Friends"
This was the perfect accommodation for two families who travelled together to attend a friend's wedding. We had two king rooms and 2 king/split each room shares one bathroom with another room. The pool in the house was fantastic and although not huge it was big enough for the 8 of us to be popping in and out as the heat demanded. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

"Great spot right by the sea with beautiful views."
A lovely area - peaceful and relaxing with an amazing vista across the blue lagoon to the uninhabited island just a few hundred metres away. But the apartments are rather sad and in need of an overhaul. There was an old musty smell and a very strong smell in the kitchen area - perhaps some sort of ant deterrant? The ants were bad but not as bad as the mossies!! I have come home with 70-80 bites! The insect screens were old and not 100% effective plus there needed to be a screen across the 2 sliding doors - which there wasn't and no air-conditioning meant we had these doors open all the time to let the lovely sea breeze in to cool us. Unfortunately that meant we also let in the hoards of resident mossies too! Besides that - we loved it!

Ngatangiia is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Ngatangiia, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Ngatangiia hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
