"Beautiful views"
Probably one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. (And we've been all over) Definitely a unique place. Overall I would recommend. Pros: -incredible beach -private and very quiet -awesome staff -daily activities -multiple pools and bars -many options for lodging, rooms, bandas, pent house suites, suite on the rock. -nobody bothering you on beach -walkable and safe to wander Cons: -drive in for half hour on a super bumpy unkept road (if you're prone to motion sickness plan ahead and take dramamine!!) - No included shuttle service. Plan to pay around 7000ks to take a taxi from Mombasa airport. We talked our taxi driver down to 6000ks. Their shuttle is 8500ks. -no electricity during the day (Generator can't support island for the whole day, Kenyan govt. doesn't have electricity out there yet. Alas from 11-5 no electricity) not a deal breaker but the rooms got a bit uncomfortable during the day and was really only an issue when my husband and I had stomach aches and were resting in the room, a fan and it AC would have been nice. Also bathroom was veryyyy dark during electricity outages even with small window. -bathroom window has no screen -rooms had a musty/wet smell -"Chale Time". I get it. They are last to see sunset so they bump the time ahead an hour. Only one clock in the entire resort displays "Chale Time". So don't use your phone to check the time, you'll just end up confused or missing things. It's unnecessary.

"Good restaurant on the beach"
The sands at nomad is a friendly hotel, it's probably 3star minimum, unfortunately the rooms are very dated the bathrooms need a complete overall, the shower head was rusty, shabby dressing gowns. We stayed in the family suits, the mattress was on top of a concrete slab! And so was the seating area in the lounge. We tried the al a carte restaurant one night it turned out to be very disappointing all the food was cold. The saving grace at this hotel has to be the food in the beach restaurant excellent food when it's available. Trui, winston. Charles are a credit to the restaurant they go above and beyond to make things as perfect as possible . Actually all the Staff at Nomads are great .

"Beautiful quiet hotel on gorgeous Diani Beach"
Pros: The staff was very welcoming. Facility is Well maintained. Would be a great place for honeymooners. Rooms are beautifully done. Their sister hotel next door had more kids at the pool so also family friendly. The food was great, mainly Kenyan inspired. Patrick at the main bar was a great guy with a good attitude. A short taxi ride to several nice clubs. Reasonably priced excursions nearby. Overall, very happy with the hotel. Cons: The shower water pressure was close to none, very low. Parts of shower and bathroom wall was dirty. There was a curio/shops next to hotel with overly aggressive sales people. If you are not a local or from Kenya, beware of them and the prices. If you get the all inclusive, be ready to get bottom of the line drinks. Anything else you pay extra which is pretty much standard in most all inclusive hotels around the world.

"Perfect family resort"
We visited Southern Palms after my visiting American cousins found the off-the-beaten-track ecolodge where we were staying to be "too remote" and wanted a more typical "resort." I tend to be more skeptical of "resorts" but I have to say I was thoroughly delighted with Southern Palms. We had wonderful adjoined ocean-facing rooms with balconies. We loved the food, both at the buffet and at the grill. The beach in front of the hotel was pleasant and we enjoyed long walks down the beach. The staff were great with my 10-month-old baby, and very accommodating. We also loved the spa, where the ladies took care of my baby while I got a massage!

Msambweni is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Msambweni, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Msambweni hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
