Nazareth lacks nice places to stay. Villa Nazareth is, to my opinion the nicest place and reasonably priced. Excellent service, large clean rooms and great location

The air conditioning in our room did not work, and when asked to come fix it no one showed up, otherwise we were very happy. Room was upgraded without us asking. Very modern and artsy all around. Wonderful breakfast buffet, gourmet food and coffee. Would definitely recommend.

"The old city of Haifa"
We booked the hotel knowing that it was in the old part of Haifa, at the bottom of the mountain. By staying there we got to see how the locals live, although as we were on a Baha'I pilgrimage with a very intense programme we had little time to interact with local people. What we did find out is that in the evenings the street became an open air restaurant, closed off to traffic. In some areas tables set with white tablecloths were ranged across the whole street, set with cutlery etc as one would expect in a high end restaurant, and the locals embraced the atmosphere. There was often live entertainment with a high stage so that everyone could see the performers. As we were on the second floor, we had no problems with the noise from the street. We tended to use the taxis for transport, but if you do, insist that the meter is put on, and ask for a receipt, as some of the drivers will ask an outrageous price for a short distance, .Driving is on the right side of the road, and all the streets seem to be one way, so you are back tracking in order to get to where you want to go. There are lots of traffic lights too, and there seem to be not too many rules of the road, drivers are impatient and I have never heard so many car horns,. Take as much of your favourite food as you can, fresh food is hard to find, some foods are very expensive, others not too bad. The top of the mountain seems to be more modern and more affluent judging by the businesses we saw as we were being driven.

"It's a nice hotel, but..."
As compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Galilee, this was a nice hotel. It's clean and modern and the parking is actually pretty good. The food was quite decent and fairly priced. However, there were a couple of issues that caused problems: 1) As usual in Israel, the hotel strongly recommends that you keep all valuables in the in-room safe. There is a safe in the room and it worked, but it was too small to put my laptop in. I've stayed at a number of hotels in Israel, and those that had safes could all contain my laptop (a 15-inch MacBook Pro). Sometimes I've had to do some contortions to get the laptop into the safe, but I've never failed to get it in. Until now. The safe in my room was much too small. It could contain a large iPad, but my laptop couldn't possibly fit. The note on the safe recommended that if you don't want to use the in-room safe, you should use the safe at the reception desk. We checked--there is no safe available at the reception desk. For me this is a show-stopper. I won't be staying at the Golden Crown again because I need my laptop while I'm in Israel. 2) The bathtub is EXTREMELY slippery and the bottom is quite curved. If you take a shower in this tub, you're risking a fall. We solved this problem by putting down one of the hand towels on the floor of the tub. This made it safe to take a shower, but the room only comes with two hand towels, so it was a hassle.

"Great experience"
This review is for the Michel's House (same owner as Alexandra) where we stayed (it's within few steps of the Alexandra house). This place is very unique with great view of the city from the balcony of the best room in the house "Aleen's room". Michel is a great host with an interesting sense of humor you will get to know of if you stayed in this house. He prepares an amazing breakfast with many colorful dishes to try and enjoy on the porch of this house. This place is located within walking distance of the main street and vicinity of the tourist locations in this historical city. Definitely will go back to this place again!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
