"Yes, book this hotel!"
We had a great experience at this resort. We looked at several other properties/resorts and made the decision to stay at Tokoriki and it was the best decision. We are used to staying at Four Seasons-type properties and this was definitely on the same level as that. The resort was very lush, well-appointed and comfortable. The staff was beyond amazing - made you feel like you were at home and became like family by the time you were leaving. They remembered and used your name often. The rooms were beyond amazing. The food was also very good and nice presentation! Loved the location because you were not far from the mainland. They had fun activities at the resort to keep you busy - if you wanted. Offsite excursions were not a problem - they made it easy to book and there were several things to choose from. We would definitely return to this resort and location.

"Fantastic holiday"
Everything excelled our expectations at Musket Cove Resort. We were upgraded to a lagoon Bure on arrival, absolutely beautiful resort and so peaceful despite it being the July school holidays. Welcomed with lovely songs, warm friendly and efficient staff, it was everything I wished for. We loved the free activities. We went snorkelling which was fantastic, visited the local village, kayaked, participated in the cooking lesson and indulged in the morning breakfast which we were part of the package. It was my daughter's birthday on our last night and the staff went out of their way to make it special for her. I highly recommend this wonderful place and would love to go back again.

"Wow! Beautiful, professional, friendly!"
My wife and I celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary at Tadrai Island Resort and we feel it was an absolutely perfect choice! They greeted us when we arrived with cheering as if we were celebrities. From the time we arrived until the time we left, it was clear to me that the only goal of the staff was to make our stay as perfect as possible. This is a very quiet and private resort with only a handful of couples checked in at any given time. So the staff goes out of their way to make sure that we as guests are always taken care of. We could ask for drinks and appetizers and they would hand deliver it to us in our private plunge pools. They decorated a fancy dinner for us on our anniversary night complete with a serenade from the staff singing to us! It was very romantic! On another day, we had lunch and private snorkeling on a beautiful sandy island a little ways from the resort. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. If you like, the gourmet lunch and dinners are served chef-choice style based on what foods you indicate to them that you like. Basically, they take care of EVERYTHING and all you have to do is tell them what you'd like to do! The phrase of the day was "Relax, you're on Fiji time." We have never in the past received such world class treatment. We didn't want to leave. The activities director, meals and housekeeping staff, thank you for a unique and unforgettable experience!

"Perfect hotel to relax."
It was a true holiday, so peaceful and relaxing. The staff treated us like family, true to their welcoming speech. We loved the fact that there was no television, no radio, no cars just the singing and guitar playing of the staff with their fantastic voices. The food and presentation was first class. We were spoiled by the staff with a wonderful birthday and anniversary celebration by the pool, which we will never forget.

"Very modern and clean, nice food, but a tad windy!"
You can see the money the Sheraton group have poured into this place - the rooms (certainly the ones we stayed in - interconnected Beachfront and Ocean Breeze) are spotless and very modern. The restaurant area is also very slick and clean. All in all, it's a typical, modern resort. Certainly there was a wide spectrum here, but on the whole the staff weren't nearly as engaged as they were at other places we stayed on this trip. This could be a function of the size of the place (it's big), or maybe it's just harder to find engaged staff in a resort environment. Food was excellent, but hideously expensive - 112 bucks for a steak anyone, 72 bucks for a bowl of pasta ? We ended up changing how we ate because of the cost which wasn't ideal and the captive-audience-tax that they can (and do) apply here left a pretty sour taste in our mouths. Water sports are a mixed bag. Firstly, it was only calm for 2 mornings and 2 full days out of 8 and unfortunately the resort is very exposed the south-easterly trade winds. When it was calm, the snorkelling off the beach at the drop-off was excellent - not Rainbow Reef quality certainly, but still really good. I, however, had two major issues - (i) the kayaks were restricted (by the jet-ski "police") from staying within the field of view of the resort AND not going beyond the edge of the reef. For someone who likes to kayak a lot, I found this frustrating. The second issue was one of noise pollution. The jet-ski's are incessant.

"Ups and downs but overall I couldn't be happier"
I'll start with the good: The staff: The staff at the resort are incredible. And that's a major understatement. They go out of their way to learn your name and say hello. In all staff are incredible. The dive team: I came as an inexperienced diver (10 dives) and left with 12 more dives and felt like I was a much better diver afterwards. Fletch, Krysta, and Lexi are very kind, very knowledgable, and extremely genuine people. I could not have asked for a better group to learn from. I would recommend this hostel solely based on those 3. The bad: I stayed in a 5 bed dormitory and I didn't expect much considering I'd be on an island for 7 days. The room was actually quite decent, with a/c. However, the bathrooms were not maintained. The bathroom door didn't close properly, the shower heads had hardly any pressure or really much water coming out at all, making it difficult to shower after diving. The cleanliness was the other issue. Nearly everyday we had to ask for toilet paper rolls. And I was unfortunate enough to have left with bed bug bites all over my body. This easily could have been from another traveler bringing them into the room as I had not gotten bitten until the last 2 nights of my stay there, but it was quite annoying and I had 2 sleepless nights. Other than the rooms, the rest of the hostel was clean and nice to stay in though. And I had only heard of one other person having bed bug issues. Overall: I have to recommend this place simply for the hospitality.

"Great holiday place to relax in the sun. "
Location is fantastic. Sun, sea, tropical marine life, crystal clear warm water (around 25deg in July) and daily air temp around 28-30, and importantly no mosquitos. The resort is basic and that's part of the appeal. Staff are genuinely friendly and caring. Food is simple, wholesome and plentiful. Our beachfront bure was 12 metres from the high tide mark, was basic but comfortable. Daily routine is meals, swimming, siesta's, snorkelling, kayaking, happy hour, and the nightly live entertainment (the whole staff singing to us every evening at 8.00pm). The welcoming and departure songs upon arrival at the waters edge were really nice. Bar prices were reasonable.

"Amazing stay"
I stayed in funky for 5 nights/ 6 days and I really enjoyed it! Yes I would recommend it to other travellers who hasn't too much budget. Funky has everything you need and your 're feeling like home since the first minute. Massage, pool, snorkel, yummy cocktails! Stuff was super friendly and really welcomed! I had a beachfront bure with my own bathroom, fan and big bed. A closet would' ve be nice but not something I would complain about:) make sure you get one of the first bures away from the noisy regenerator! Would totally come back!

Matamanoa Island is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Matamanoa Island, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Matamanoa Island hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
