"Beautiful Lake Akan "
It is a very big hotel with all sort of facilities. The different public onsens are nice and you can try all of them - if you manage to find the time all three of them. The rooftop onsen has a nice view of the stars at night and it is a must not to be missed. We stayed at the new wing and the rooms are big and comfy. The only thing is that my mountain view room has only views of the old wings and no mountain at all - this is a big disappointment. Do get a lake view room if you can afford it. The dinner buffet is lovely - do arrive early as queue starts outside the restaurant one hour after the buffet starts. The sashimis etc are all very lovely. Photographers took pics of you eating in buffet and available for purchase the next morning at 1100 yen. This is great. Staff English level can be improved. This makes it easy to get help when needed.

"Comfortable rooms; great service"
Hotel staff: extremely helpful! Although a staff who served me at 10:30pm spoke and understood little English, he tried to take care of my needs and tried to serve me to the best of his ability. Despite spending a lot of time to try to get my message across (patiently communicated for 45mins), I felt that he was very sincere in trying to help. Also, staff will happily assist in making bookings (I wanted to book a chartered taxi and they managed to get me a reasonable price). Hotel condition: a little old, but good value for money. Rooms: comfortably large for the most basic room type (Japan-specific). Request a room with a sea view. Convenience: not far from train station, but a car/taxi is still required Breakfast: had quite a variety. I especially loved the soba noodles and scrambled eggs/omelette! Tip to English-speakers: try to raise a query between 10am and 9pm for a smoother result

"Great food and nice baths!"
We picked this hotel as we wanted to visit Akan National Park but didn't fancy the resort towns of Akanko Onsen and the other town (sorry, can't recall the name). This hotel appealed because of its relative isolation and if you have a car then you can drive to Akanko Onsen (about 1 hr) or wherever you want to be to go hiking etc. It wasn't quite as romantic and isolated as we'd imagined though - the front looks more like a Premier Inn (the photos are taken from the back which I have to admit does have a very lovely view of the woods). We also somehow imagined it was a small cosy place down a little track in the woods when in reality it's medium sized hotel at the end of medium sized road (but still in the woods). That said, it really grew on us after our initial disappointment as we pulled up outside. Staff were friendly, Japanese style room was very clean (although the little heaters do smell of petrol), it had a nice little communal area that you can chill out in, and the male and female onsen are great! Both include outdoor pools. And if you want to be together then you can book the private bath for an hour (which costs 2000 yen). The thing we really liked though was the food - really wonderful, Japanese food. We had breakfast and dinner included in our rate and looked. It rate seemed very expensive when I booked it but after experiencing the meals we thought it was well worth it, if you like traditional Japanese food (we do!). A cross between a hotel and a ryokan.

"Nice hotel with good location "
The hotel is just 5 min walk from JR station and it is also near the restaurants. If you plan to see Japanese crane I think it is better to rent a car, because the bus is quite not often and tourist attractions are far from the city.

"Loved this hotel!"
We just were travelling through but found the Hotel was so great. The position very interesting on the river. They upgraded us so our room was fabulous. The staff so attentive. There was something a bit magical / fairyland about it for me. The whole area/town gave us a hint of what life in a cold climate could be.

Kushiro is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kushiro, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kushiro hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
