Arcadia Suites

Plot 54A Kira Road, Kampala - Map
"Wonderful hotel for comfort and convenience"
The Arcadia Suites has all the amenities to make it a home away from home, including a kitchenette, large seating area, large comfortable bed and fine shower facilities. Not much else is needed. The breakfast is on the top floor, buffet style and is excellent. The view is impressive, especially as the sun rises or sets, across from a park where you can view many different kinds of birds. There are comfortable side rooms on the same floor that are idea for small meetings or discussions. The staff are friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile if there are difficulties. The only down-side is the internet; the bandwidth does not allow for much more than e-mail. The IT department valiantly and supportively tried to keep to a high standard, but until they obtain a new provider, I fear the difficulty will continue.

"Lives up the reputation of No.1 in Kampala"
Was disappointed with Expedia not taking my instructions seriously that I require everything to be billed to the hotel at the end of the stay, including the hotel nights. To ensure transparency in the room rate at the point of payment with the hotel.

"Centrally-placed hotel convenient for business"
We came here from a stay at the Serena Golf Course Hotel at Entebbe. It's a more convenient location but was not as good (food, staff, facilities) as the Serena (although cheaper).

"Friendly staff and I felt well looked after"
Really liked the hotel. Room was spacious and kept clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and welcoming. All my needs were well catered for and would book again if I go back to Kampala again. The only negative comment is that I felt the lighting in the restaurant area was too dim.

Speke Resort & Conference Centre

Munyonyo Road, Munyonyo, Kampala - Map
"Good oasis"
Two of us were traveling to Uganda for work, and stayed at Speke Resort for the weekend, before beginning our work. The staff was immediately friendly and helpful in getting us to our room. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with one bathroom, a living area, a kitchen area, and a balcony. The rooms were clean and large, and the hotel provided bottled water. We spent a lot of time by the pool, exploring the lakeside, and enjoying meals at the lakeside restaurant (which is not quite lakeside, but is near enough). The food is delicious, although the service is sometimes slow. But there is no need to rush when you are relaxing at the resort! Ibrahim even helped us book a rafting tour on the Nile in Jinja! Everything was exactly as he said when he booked the tour for us. We really enjoyed our short stay in this oasis in Kampala!

Speke Hotel

Plot 7 9 Nile Avenue, Kampala - Map
"Speke Hotel in downtown Kampala"
The Speke is an acquired taste. The staff is out of this world. Very helpful, very polite, ready to do whatever is needed. The hotel is historic, but worn. The typical European/USA traveler will feel that the hotel room is not up to the typical business standard, but looks can be very deceiving. The Speke is clean, the food is very good (several varied restaurants), and the hotel has an unbeatable location if you are doing business in the downtown. I have stayed there 3 times, and my business partner (after initially not liking the hotel) has stayed there twice because the "goods" outway the "not greats" by a lot. The WiFi is variable. During my last stay, it was excellent. My partner on his last trip, however, found it to be inconsistent. The list of things I really like: location, service, food, taxi availablity, security, air conditioning. large room with extra sitting area and table. The things I put up with: taking a shower you can experience hot water "surging", shower could be cleaner, generally a spartan room, door does not shut out noise in the hall. I have had extended stays there, and the laundry service is very fast and very reasonable. I feel that this is the best value in Kampala and I will keep staying at the Speke.

Kampala is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kampala, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kampala hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
