We had a few hiccups. We complained to let them know. The response was ok.
We had just come from Sofitel Siem Reap and they ticked all the boxes. When you go to a new hotel and they don't deliver the same standard, you notice.
We didn't have hot water for last 2 days, just an example

"Not close to Sisowath Quay or local scene but nice"
The hotel has some pros and cons.
Pros: the service, breakfast, cleanliness, quality, etc are all top notch; people are high quality with excellent English skills; the gym is decent (although they refuse to keep the sauna and steam room on so you have to wait 10-15 mins for it to warm up) and the pool is nice and clean. And for you single guys the hotel is quite guest friendly.
Cons: the two biggest problems are the distance from the main strip and the prices. Now, if you are there on a romantic getaway or a family vacation then the distance from a 'girly bar' is probably not an issue. However, the absolutely absurd pricing for comestibles whether in the restaurant or even the mini-bar is just a bit much. Seriously, the Plaza Hotel or an AMC theater has cheaper food and drinks. When you consider that a beer outside the hotel is $0.75 (domestic) to $3 (decent import), but the hotel charges $10, or that a coke zero on the street is $0.50 vs $6 in the hotel mini-bar, it leaves a sour taste on an otherwise great experience.
Good hotel, but price gouging Westerners is not a good business practice.

We had never been to Cambodia or in fact the Far East so this was quite adventurous for us. After quite a long journey to get to the hotel, my wife, son, daughter and I were received very well by the hotel staff. The main foyer is beautiful as are the grounds and the facilities. The hotel has its own beach front which is literally a 1 min walk away where you can order drinks and food. There are no hawkers so you are never disturbed. The hotel has a pool side bar where drinks will be served to you whilst you sit on the stools in the pool but they also serve food there if you are too lazy to go to one of the 3 restaurants they have on site. We were there for 2 weeks and had breakfast from their amazing selection almost every day, lunch at the pool side or Champa restaurant on most days but we quite enjoyed going out to town ($3 tuk tuk ride each way for 4 people that's $3 in total!) The nearby town has really good restaurants which are clean and as long as you don't have the homemade ice you won't get ill. Choice of cuisine is Indian (Kama Sutra), Italian pizza joint next to Kama Sutra on the corner, burgers, grills, seafood, Thai, Sushi etc and all very reasonable on price.
I want to especially single out the following staff, Asif Bajwa the new F&B Director is bringing a new vibe to the hotel and setting the bar to a very high International standard. With him in his team are Chann Vichet Tom Chanthy Vannak and Meoung amongst many who shined bright with the service they gave.

This hotel has great facilities including a glass elevator down to a private beach. It lacks the polish of a five star hotel but the views, pool, gym and private beach were all in that league at a very reasonable cost. The staff were friendly and helpful and although the hotel is 15 minutes from the town centre there is a free bus which will take and pick you up. If you pick this hotel you won't be disappointed.
