This hotel was awesome. The room was clean and very comfortable. Everything seems to be designed with common sense. The lobby and common areas are kind of old but they are still ok. I ordered room service once and can't complain. I paid $200 a night which was a lot but I guess the demand was high in Quito.

We spent a week there. Including New Year. The staff were lovely and easy going but efficient. We practiced our bad Spanish with them and they helped correct us. New Year dinner in the restaurant was fun complete with lovely singing from Paola, one of the great staff. We also burnt a monigote of Johnathon, another member of the staff who reassured us it was a way of burning all the bad things from his life in 2016 and welcoming good luck into his life in 2017. We also bought a monigote and called him Donald and added him to the bonfire in the street. Along with the other guest we ate grapes, drank a yummy cocktail and burnt monigotes in The street at midnight. we loved Cuenca and the hotel.

I felt very much at home in Casa de las Rosas, a small hotel with a friendly staff that felt at times like a private club. It was within walking distance or a $1.50 taxi to the bus station for excursions to Ingapirca and Cajas National Park. Although I wasn't crazy about the location at first, as I became more adept at getting around I realized that I could easily get where I wanted to go and bypass the noise and congestion. And it was close enough to walk to Fabiano's for a takeout lasagne.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Quito; walking distance of the historic center with all amenities close by. The staff at this hotel are more than excellent; they are "over the top" helpful and so very friendly and kind. The restaurant serves a wonderful buffet breakfast complete with special requests and wonderful local cuisine lunch and dinner menus. There is a cozy bar/lounge on the lower level just off the beautiful atrium. Oh, and did I mention how wonderful the staff are? We highly recommend this hotel.

Modern hotel. Clean room. Friendly and professional owners. Tasty breakfast. hot showers. Cold hotel area and not much seating while our room was too warm and we could not find thermometer to adjust temperature.
