"old world set on peaceful Willingdon Island"
A favourite place to stay. Peaceful location. Easy 10 minute,4 rupee ferry ride to city centres. Hotel had old world charm and offers an excellent buffet breakfast and buffet dinners. We had both and were both very good. Staff are well trained and pleasantly helpful. A complimentary boat ride is offered which is an enjoyable experience. Has a nice spa and swimming pool. A good bar set in nice location, although a little expensive for wine and spirits. We always enjoy our stay.

"Overlooking harbour"
We stayed 2 nights just to have a different experience. View of the harbour is lovely but too much of water hyacinth floating around. The location of the reception is just wrong; first impression is not very professional as there is no proper lobby. Room is modern and clean with good layout, however, TV is missing. Location is too close to the mosque and area is not friendly enough to be walking about on foot.

"Relaxing retreat from the city life"
The Trident experience was enhanced by the care of the staff and the quality of the food paralleled by an atmosphere of calm, peaceful and relaxing choices after a full day of sight seeing. The charm of this hotel was evident yet some of the amenities were outdated and the size of the rooms were limited. Began my trip here and also ended my stay on the area here and allowed me to ease my way into the faster pace of everyday Indian life by slowing down in a leisurely way in this peaceful setting.

"Nice property with new inexperienced management"
Our group of 6 stayed for one night in December. Originally booked for 3 deluxe rooms, we were upgraded to the super delux rooms. We liked : room size, beds were comfortable, bedding was good, towels good, over all cleanliness was good. The food in the resturant tasted good but many items on the menu were not available. Improvement areas: need shower curtain, hot water for showers, hooks or fixtures in bathrooms for handing hand towels, more outlets, table lamps on night stands, address mosquitos in rooms, and most importantly stable and available wifi. For the resturant, breakfast was included with our stay. The food was decent. The staff tried very hard to please. If theses improvements are made, this hotel can offer a very comfortable stay in a unique building with lots of character and history . Location is good. We walked to Dutch Palace in about 12 minutes.

"stay @ the hotel and eat out."
We stayed for 3 nights in August. Rooms were clean, comfortable and very safe place to be. Most of the staff did a good job except for a female staff @ room service. After I placed an order from the room service menu this woman rang back and told me that it's not available albeit it was on both room service and Periyar restaurant menu. When I insisted that I had the particular dish- kerala red boiled rice- in the previous night she rather sarcastically informed me that I must have dreamt the whole thing up; that too multiple times!! Later on she did realise she was at fault but I -for the first time after staying @ Gukulam for so many times - was taken back by such rude behaviour from one of their staff. In fact I found most of the catering staff were 'under the weather'.They took their time- even after requests - to serve coffee/tea etc for the breakfast buffet etc. The food was mediocre but expensive for that reason I would suggest stay @ the hotel and eat out (Cochin has quite diverse eateries to cater for everyone's palate).Hence the moderate rating.

Cochin is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cochin, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cochin hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
