"Pricy but worth every penny. "
The overall experience was the perfect gift to my wife. Staff are highly helpful & smiling all the time. The room (7th floor) was perfectly centered. 360 degrees looking at the sea & was not seeing the street down below.

Steigenberger Cecil Alexandria Hotel

16, Saad Zagloul Square, Raml Station, Alexandria - Map
"I would go back to Alexandria just to stay here!"
We were visiting my daughter who lives there. She recommended 'The Cecil' as the best hotel in Alexandria. We saw other 4-5 * hotels but the majority were way out of town and in - or part of - a Mall - we really didn't want that type of bland experience. The other thing is that in rush hour to travel the 10km along the Corniche to the sights from there can take well over an hour. The Steinberger Cecil is really charming. Calm and restful - the perfect antidote to the hustle of Alexandria! Breakfast is great - my daughter came every morning (but it is rather pricey if you buy it by the day)! Everything you want -loads of choice, fresh fruit, cheeses, meat, a mix of western and middle eastern and a chef to make any type of egg and anything they don't have. I couldn't get over the sheer number of staff - and they really were helpful and friendly; We called down to reception say for a toothbrush and it came straight away; one day the lift attendant saw me looking at the Alexandria gazette (in English) in the lobby. The next morning one was pushed under our door - at no extra cost. We spent quite a lot of time in our room as I was getting over flu and it was really well appointed. New and fresh furniture and beds, lovely mattress and bedding - a balcony overlooking the Square and the Corniche. I was really sorry to leave.

133 Al Gaish Road, Alexandria - Map
For a 3* hotel with this location and rooms with great seaview is this price in Alexandria acceptable. The color falls on some parts from the wall which is normal for hotels 1st sealine. Cleanliness was in the beginning not so good as there was many hair in the bathroom and dirt on the carpet. After the comment the responsible woman for cleaing and the General Manager came to show other room and called after roomchange if all is fine. They do their best to make the guests satisfied. Breakfast variety was okay. Very good water pressure.

"****Nice but be cautious****"
Early check-in was nicely offered. Staff were very helpful and location is nice. My disappointment came later because when I accepted to be relocated to a room existing in a nearby building around 50 meters from the hotel main building where u check-in. Hot water runs out ( I had a horrible shower). They have 2 elevators in this building but they are not working properly and it happened to me that one of them was off and the other was hanged in the 18th floor with nobody existing around to fix this issue( My room was in the 13th floor). I had 2 beds in my room and one of them had dirty sheets and I had a spider on the wall. No air conditioner( either cold or hot) only ceiling fan exist and no mini bar fridge. **MAIN WORDS ARE THAT IT IS A NICE HOTEL FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY BUT AVOID ANY ROOM IN THIS NEW NEARBY BUILDING. IT IS NOT YET READY TO ACCOMMODATE GUESTS.**

Montaza Palace Royal Gardens, Alexandria - Map
"Excellent hotel in the Montaza Palace."
It was an excellent hotel, inside the palace and adjacent to the Mediterranean sea. The hotel staff were friendly and the area is convenient. The hotel itself has a sushi place, Chinese food, Texas BBQ, and a McDonald's 1 minute walk away. You can take a public transportation for less than 3 Egyptian Pounds from the hotel to the happenings of Alexandria. The hotel is inside a huge palace garden and you can spend 2 hours exploring the area, walk along the beach with many cafes and restaurants just outside the palace. Alexandria library, the castle, and major shopping areas are within 30 minutes drive. The traffic is better in Alexandria than Cairo but it's still bad. It is a relaxed and modern city. The train station is also nearby if you take the train to or from Cairo. I highly recommend the hotel and the city.

Alexandria is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Alexandria, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Alexandria hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
