"Architecturally beautiful"
I arrived in Stone Town after dark and didn't see much; the entrance was dim. The taxi can park near but you must walk a bit, an itty bitty bit. Two floors of rooms with the restaurant on the roof, so there will be stairs. AC was terrific with a ceiling fan also. Slept soundly. Quite nice overall.

"Intimate hotel in the heart of things"
We spent 9 days in this boutique hotel. It was lovely, our room was so cute with lovely touches from flowers on the bed on arrival to towels laid out in different style each day (even a heart to end our stay). It was beautifully turned down twice a day and made us feel so welcomed. Our room was lovely as a romantic as retreat and to get out of the madness of he markets. What truly made the hotel was the lovely, thoughtful, ever smiling and helpful staff. Those there morning until night working tirelessly to ensure our needs were met, from room service, freshly squeezed juices to providing a pandit when my partner felt unwell. They went above and beyond with even the guy there coming out to translate for us when our rental car was broken into. Neema, Jacq, Lucy were wonderful and full of smiles, jokes and warm welcomes. We were very impressed by our boxed breakfast when we had to leave for the airport at 3am and our wake up calls. Their evening restaurant was lovely and the chef really paid attention to detail with his food. My only issue at the hotel would be we chose the room that was on a busy noisier side (fine at night as the AC drowned out the noise) but the room was so lovely we didn't really mind. Perhaps good to have more guide books, points of interest knowledge and maps but I found all the amazing places to go from trip advisor to be honest. The location was perfect not too on the main road and near the markets.

"Best choice in the mid of town"
If you are looking for a clean and good place to stay and for comfort in stonetown, i would deffinitely recommend this hotel. It is in the middle of the town yet feels like away from all that dirt and crowd. Best choice and quality. But exchange rates are very low in this hotel when compared to anywhere in zanzibar.

"Great find in a city with several options"
I really enjoyed my stay here at Tausi Palace Hotel. I used Expedia reviews in order to decide on a place, and the reviews are pretty accurate. The property is a bit of a challenge to find and nothing to look at from the outside, but once inside the virtual rating increased substantially. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and didn't expect a tip like other properties in Tanzania. The room (205) was beautiful, it was a suite with a separate sitting room that gave me much needed space. The bed was firm but comfortable, the bathroom clean and good water pressure. The complimentary breakfast was decent and the A/C worked very well! The only two disappointing amenities, was a fridge that didn't work, and the wi-fi, as the first day I had a decent signal, but the next day their service went down and Tausi Palace had to call in a repairman. Other than the two disappointing amenities, as well as many of stairs to climb, and outside street noise from the children that can be difficult to remediate, the positive experience I had with this hotel met my expectations and I would definitely recommend to travelers.

"Nice hotel, with a great view on the ocean."
The staff are really welcoming. They is also available to you pool, table tennis, volleyball. It seems as though the people that come stay a long time because every seemed to know each other and very friendly. Sadly I stayed on one day, but if I had more time I definitely would have stayed longer. For sure my friend almost convinced me to take a few more days and she loved it too. I think I was pleasantly surprise cuz I wasn't expecting much for the cost. However, the hotel is far from everything and has only one restaurant to eat from. You have to hire a taxi to go anywhere, but taxis are not that expensive anyway.

Zanzibar is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Zanzibar, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Zanzibar hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
