"Great outlook from rooms"
Lovely staff and pleasant stay. Menu prices would be good as they do set menu options daily for lunch and dinner and dinner is 3 courses. You can opt for 1 course but need to ask as this is not offered and will still cost you $38 for your dish. Pretty steep comparitively.

"A Dream Come True"
The Remote Resort was INCREDIBLE! My husband and I just went there for our honeymoon and we are already talking about when we can go back. Not only is the location stunning, but the staff is phenomenal! We felt so taken care of the whole time we were there. The food is also amazing! The only negative from the whole trip was that I gained 5 pounds while there because the food is that good :)

"Exceptional Place, Great People"
I normally don't post reviews but Matangi Island hit it out of the park! The staff took care of transfers from the airport (by car and boat) before we arrived. We were met at the airport and ushered to the island. The staff greeted us singing with coconut juice waiting. Very nice after a long plane ride. The room was great. The food was excellent and different every day. Before we left, I was a little worried about what we would do for a week on an island. I shouldn't have been. There are numerous snorkeling spots around the island, the picnic in Horseshoe Bay was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we hiked the island and my wife LOVED the spa. There was more to do and we ran out of time. One last thing, the staff makes the private island experience. They went out of their way to provide service with a graciousness and warmth that I have never experienced elsewhere. Getting to know the people of Fiji and Matangi Island was a treasure. We'll be back...

Dolphin Bay Divers Retreat

15 Minutes off Taveuni on Vanua Levu, Vanaira Bay - Map
"Friendly, casual dive retreat with resident cats!"
A typical day includes waking up for a generous breakfast including coffee, tea, fresh tropical fruit, toast, and eggs cooked-to-order. The first dive boat leaves at about 8:30am after breakfast. The dive staff take care of your equipment and, because of "dolphin time", we are usually the first and only divers at the dive site. Diving the rainbow reef is beautiful but can be challenging due to strong currents and the tides. For best results, plan to visit around the half moon--not at full moon or new moon! After the first dive, tea and cookies are served during the surface interval. After the second morning dive, go back to your bure or tent for a quick, military-style shower (to conserve water) and head to the dining area for a wonderful lunch (with dessert!). Example lunches included chili con carne, club sandwiches, and pasta dishes. After lunch, everyone settles in for a siesta (I preferred an oceanfront hammock for mine) until about 4:30pm, when the electricity and Internet turn on for the evening. After a happy hour snack (e.g., rice balls and other fried goodies), an evening activity might occur like coconut bowling, kava, or crab races. Dinner is a 3-course experience including appetizer, main, and dessert (again!). The dishes are varied and typically include pork, chicken, or beef excellently prepared and served. Lovo night is not to be missed! Sunday is low-key (no dives) and the spa is excellent! A great staff that welcomes guests!

"Feels like your dream home"
Stayed here for our honeymoon for around 10 days and we can't say enough good things about this place. The view, food, staff, activities, and the dogs were lovely and we miss everyone and everything already! Where do we start...the diving is spectacular with the dive master, Carl. Hiking is a pleasant surprise with the dogs (4) who led the way and were such friendly hosts! Snorkeling with gorgeous house reefs is amazing and the kayaking along mangroves is out of this world. The housekeepers were so sweet and diligent--they make the beds with fresh flower decorations twice everyday and coming home to it puts a smile on our faces every time. The consistent supply of cookies and milk in the pantry is delightful and delicious, as with every meal. The list just goes on and on... You HAVE to come stay at Sau Bay if you are visiting Fiji! We hope to be back some day!

"It could be better"
Nice location.Same little improvements, will make our staying more enjoyable. 1) same areas in room, under shelving and under bed, need to be better clean.'(vacum cleaner required- not broom cleaning only). 2)security,external flood light fitted above Bure window - all interior of room, getting to much light in.we have filling that we slipping on busy Sydney road, not in tropical resort. 3)same external lighting need to be better positioned: Lights on stairs (too many shadows), flood light on shed near reception, shining on grass area in front of shed -but not on road. That light is so bright, that is so difficult to see when you walking on road, near by. 4)Boys performing "kava ceremony" - This is anti propaganda of Fiji tradition - we have see this in other places in Fiji - it was much better. This boys just drinking and smoking until all of them "past away".Guest setting and watching them for hours awaiting for songs to start. After all we getting 2-3 songs for all night and songs are on english language!!!Whats with beautiful Fiji songs.??It is OK if this is Fiji way - but guests do not need to watch that for 2-3 hours. 5) On Friday night bar run out of Coca Cola.We can not order Cola for another 2 days!!! on Saturday and Sunday!!!How difficult was to go to local shops and get supply.? We have beed instruct to go and purchased our own drink.? 6) Variety of drinks in bar is bad. 7) TV launch,is fill with of duty staff at most of time - quests can not find spot to set down,or

Taveuni Island East is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Taveuni Island East, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Taveuni Island East hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
