"swimming pool being renovated"
If we had known in advance that the pool & driveway were under construction/ renovation I doubt if we would have stayed here. No compensation was offered for the inconvenience & the mud. I assume by now the construction has been completed & I would stay here again without hesitation The management & staff are very professional, friendly, efficient, courteous & respectful.

"beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff"
There is plenty to see around the area. Some lovely temples and Phoussy Temple has spectacular views of Luang Prabang. The waterfall is well worth a visit and you have the opportunity to swim in the pools, very refreshing on a hot day. Many restaurants to chose from and all within easy walking distance. The night market has lots of local products and a little bargaining is always fun.

"Nice hotel with lots of stairs. "
There were 68 stairs to get to our room. I know because my daughter counted them every time we went up or down. Not a problem for us. There are other rooms not so high up the hill. Just an FYI. Beautiful grounds with a great view. The pool was a bit too cold for swimming in November

This is a lovely little guesthouse/hotel on a narrow street that leads to the Mekong River (about 1/2 block away) from the street the monks walk on at dawn. The breakfast is basic; the restaurant not really a restaurant, but the owner and cook and staff are very nice and very accommodating, eager to be helpful. Our room was comfortable ... king size bed, air conditioning etc. The bathroom was a bit weird, with clear glass about 1/2 way up from the floor, but everything worked okay. The location could not have been better for us.

1 Old Bridge, Luang Prabang - Map

"A relaxing place by the river."
It is a bit old (well, I guess I was in the old block...), but it is a pleasant resort overlooking the old bridge. The staff in the bar / restaurant tried really hard, and I was impressed with them, and the food. The staff at reception seemed a little less keen to impress, bit were okay. The room was large and well furnished and cleaned well. However, the hotel is some way from "the action" (but they do have a shuttle). It is perfectly possible to walk to the centre - the bamboo bridge route is good in the dry season - ask them about it. You may feel you would rather have been on the Mekong banks nearer the action when you see it, but I guess these places cost more, and would certainly be less peaceful. If you want to be "near enough", but a little but out of the way, this would be a good choice. There is a great restaurant on the hotel side of the the bamboo bridge, an easy 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. It pays to book in advance. The old Wooden Bridge is not nearly as terrifying as some may suggest, but the odd plank is worth avoiding, and there are a couple of missing planks. Just be sensible, and it's fine. The bamboo bridge is no problem. Finally, I had a very close encounter with a scorpion in the bathroom, lurking under the bath mat, which I had been around in bare feet for about 10 minutes before spotting! I can't blame the hotel for native wildlife, but I did feel the one inch gap below the doors might benefit from some sort of seal to help minimise the risks!

"Nice hotel"
Hotel was beautiful, good breakfast variety. Rooms were clean but we found a huge cockroach in our room and told the cleaning lady and they looked scared. Overall it's a beautiful place but a little far from town

Luang Prabang is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Luang Prabang, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Luang Prabang hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
