Red Frog Beach Island Resort

"You're missing boat Reg Frog"
This property could be and should be the king of resorts in the Boca Del Toro's. Unfortunately, the staff as nice as they are poorly trained. I realize it's the island life and you live in the land of the slothes, but that doesn't mean the staff have to ressemble one, does it? If you don't ask they may not inform you. So ask every question you can think of. There are very few activitives. This area is perfect for jet ski's, paddle boards, kayaks, etc... Of course the Red Frog does not offer it. It's a big island, but most of the beaches you have to reach by boat. They have golf carts for their rough terrain, so get ready to be bounced around like a rag doll. If you back issues, do not come to this area. Best thing that the Frog has to offer is it's restaurant run and operated Jeff an American. Someone who gets the quality of food and service will back or break the repeat of business. People come from other smaller resorts to enjoy his food, his service and his company. The Frog got this one right. Now please train the rest of your staff. I would love to invest in different activities so the partons could enjoy their stay better. One suggestion, greet your partons on the dock with a welcome beverage. A small gesture goes a long way.

We had a good time staying at Cosmic Crab resort. The room was nice and we loved being able to sit at the restaurant which is on the water. Beautiful setting. Kayaked around the bay and did some snorkeling.

"Central to everything and good value for money"
The hotel is obviously not a 5 star hotel rather than an economic hotel with excellent value for the money and includes free breakfast. There are no elevators but accesible by stairs, The room was clean and had well functioning AC and bathroom with hot water. Fresh towels and cleaning every day.

"Overall Great. "
Close to downtown and nearby shops and restaurants which was great. Walkable neighborhood with patrolling police. If you are staying for longer, then you need to pay extra for laundry and cleaning services. For the price, this was a great value. However, the electricity and the water went off a few times during our 4 day stay which was problematic.

"Quaint Bungalow Hotel over the Water"
We had a great experience at El Faro del Colibri. There are six bungalows over the water and apartment style condos in the back on the island. Check in was quick and easy. The receptionist showed us to our rooms and explained everything. The housekeeping was great. Fresh made beds/amenities every morning and breakfast was included. The housemom, I considered her the host of the property, was very nice! She cooked a freshly made breakfast every morning. We even woke up late after the cut off and she graciously still cooked us breakfast. She only speaks Spanish, so if you don't know some Spanish it may be difficult to have a conversation. The menu's are in both English and Spanish though. There is a market nearby on the island 5 minutes walking to the left where you can buy water/beer or snacks. There is a great restaurant called Bibi's on the Beach that is 5 minutes to the right. Try the fresh Ceviche. It's a must. You can rent surfboards/paddle boards from Bibi's 15/30 per day respectively. Those complaining about trash on the island or it being dirty have obviously never been to a underdeveloped country. So if you're that type of person go stay at the expensive resort further up Bocas Islands. Carenero Island is perfectly fine if you want to get away from the main island and it also has nice beaches. You can walk from the airport to the main town in 5 minutes or less. From there take a dollar per person water taxi. I highly recommend this hotel!

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Frances, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Frances hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
