"Older hotel close to downtown "
The hotel is old and like a rabbit warren with many stairs, passages and fire doors and no elevator, so not suitable for the mobility impaired . Parking is down the road in a public car park but a parking pass is provided. Our room was comfortable but very dark, being somewhere in the far reaches of the hotel, looking at a wall. The beds were comfortable and it had a nice bathroom. We ate in the restaurant and had a very good meal, Breakfast was part buffet, part order and was the standard fare but nicely served. We were happy with our stay as we arrived early evening and left after breakfast so the dark room didn't matter. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

"Helpful staff"
My wife and I arrived at the Ashe after a "red eye " from the US , we had driven from Cork airport and reached the hotel at about 10 am , we requested an early check-in and the staff went out of there way to ensure that housekeeping made a room available as soon as possible . We did not have breakfast included in our room rate , we could have purchased the Ashe's buffet breakfast but instead chose to have coffee and scones in their bar area , they make excellent scones. We also ate a couple of meals in their restaurant and the quality of the food and service was very good . The Ashe is a short and easy walk into the center of Tralee and we enjoyed eating seafood at Quinlan's reataurant and chowder and crab cakes at Pikeman;s Bar . It is also only a short walk to Tralee's beautiful rose garden and the town's excellent museum.

"Good choice"
Close enough to downtown Tralee to walk, but away from the noise and traffic. Very pleasant staff. Lovely restaurant with good breakfasts (plus nice buffet) and excellent dinners. Pleasant rooms with a huge plus for me- a large bathtub in addition to the shower. Will highly recommend to anyone heading to Tralee for a few days.

"Cozy and comfortable stay"
I stayed two nights while I was traveling on my own, and I felt very at home at the farmhouse. My room had a view of the front pastures, and comfy furnishings. I wished I had a tub to soak in, but that’s not the farm’s fault. The Murphy’s are an excellent family — definitely pop into Murphy’s Bar to warm up by their fireplace, or cool down with a cold drink. Their staff really made my trip memorable due to their personalities and enthusiasm for other local spots to recommend. I had some unbelievably wonderful conversations staying here, and I look forward to coming back to visit again one day!

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Castlegregory hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
