"The most wonderful hotel on the banks of the nile."
This is my first booking with Expedia and everything worked wonderfully. I was collected at Aswan Airport and arrived late at night (I was expected so check in simple). A wonderful hotel, the staff are attentive and everything about the hotel is amazing. If you want to experience relaxation and luxury, The Old Cataract is the place to spend it.

Amazing experience and at the price you can't argue. Staff bends over backwards to help. Stunning view of the Nile over sunset.

"A breath of fresh air in smoggy Cairo!"
Another visit, this time for two short stays and, for me, a ‘home from home’. Whilst a busy hotel, it is still possible to find quiet and peace within its environment. An excellent experience, as always, and up to the expected standards for this type of hotel. Customer Service was top class and staff were prepared to go beyond what I expected. Spotlessly clean, good decoration, Bank, ATM, Swimming Pool, free Airport Shuttle (15 minutes), Health Club, 6 restaurants and a Shop were amongst the features of this large hotel. Whilst several staff members stood out for their warmth and ready willingness to help, Randa (Le Marquis) remembered me from 6 months back and provided the same proactive and first-class service that I clearly recall from my previous visit. That is a true measure of the high quality attributes demonstrated by the hotel's smart and enthusiastic staff. Thank you for another great stay and please convey my thanks to your team.

About 20 minutes walk from train station. Located at an indent of a side street. That indent is called Keylane. Hotel arranges Abu Simbel tour at 140LE and do prepare a breakfast box for you. Facilities and room are poor quality, but staff are nice.

"Wonderful guesthouse overlooking the pyramids"
The family that runs this guesthouse went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable at every turn. The rooftop is an amazing place to watch the sound and light show for free. You can access the pyramids at one of the exits steps from the front door and they directed me to a wonderful restaurant less than a block away. Staying here allowed me to get in right at 8 and I had the pyramids basically to myself for an hour. You will need to walk to the main gate to get tickets to enter though. Free water and drinks and the breakfast spread was amazing fruit, veggies, eggs, tahini, cereal, croissants...delicious! Thank you for the hospitality, I almost never write reviews but this place was such a great value and experience!

"Authentic Nubian Experience"
Even though we arrived early in the day, we were invited up to their wonderful rooftop patio to enjoy a delicious welcome drink while they cleaned our room which took maybe 20 minutes. We easily passed the time enjoying the beautiful view of the Nile, the desert and passing camels. The workers were incredibly friendly and welcoming; they reassured us everyone in the village was family and that we were now family, too. The food is home-cooked and wildly delicious. We stayed in the top room with a balcony and view of the river. It was spacious and the bathroom was clean (it's only separated from the rest of the room by a plastic curtain, but it's set up fine for privacy). The whole building is gorgeous, both inside and out. If I ever get enough money to build my own house I will definitely do it in this style. The ceilings are domed with brick, the floors are nice tiles, the decor is very warm. It really is beautiful. My only mild recommendation would be to have maybe a table or desk in the room, as we had to leave most of our stuff on the floor. I liked the minimalism of it, but there also needs to be some functionality, too. Aswan was more of a 'city' than we thought, but this was set in a small Nubian village that was relaxing, authentic and charming just across the river. I really couldn't have asked for anything more, and you'd be silly to come all this way and not experience what little Nubian is left in Egypt (even local Egyptians were visiting).

Aswan is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Aswan, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Aswan hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
