As President, Clem Bason oversees all aspects of the Hotwire Group's two brands: Hotwire® and CarRentals.com™.
Clem joined Hotwire as Vice President of Hotel Supplier Relations in February 2006, bringing deep experience in business strategy and partnership development. Clem also served as Vice President of Merchandising in charge of retailing and creative direction for the website.
Prior to Hotwire, Clem led Gap Brand's Strategy and Business Development Group, supervising strategic planning and new business development. Clem also spent five years with McKinsey & Co., managing engagements primarily for retail, consumer goods, and online clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Clem received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley.
As Vice President of Marketing, Cheryl Law leads all aspects of Hotwire Group's online and offline marketing programs, public relations, and marketing analytics.
Since joining in August 2000 prior to the site's launch, Cheryl has overseen consumer research for the company, including concept and copy development, category segmentation, and customer satisfaction tracking.
Prior to Hotwire, Cheryl conducted consumer research at Procter & Gamble for eight years, where she focused on brands like Crest, Folgers, and Pantene. During her tenure, Cheryl helped grow the Pantene brand from a two-percent share in the United States to the number-one hair care brand in the world.
Cheryl received a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University (with honors) and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
As Vice President of Engineering, Jai Vijan leads all technology development and innovation efforts for the Hotwire Group. Jai joined Hotwire in 2002, and since then has spearheaded the implementation of the industry-leading technology platforms that power both sites.
Prior to Hotwire, Jai worked in architecture and management roles at companies like Zanza Software, Broadvision, and the Oracle Corporation. His expertise is in Java, C++, and high-volume Internet applications.
Jai received a BS and M.Eng. in Computer Science from Cornell University.
As Chief Financial Officer, Joe Selsavage oversees Hotwire Group's global finance and accounting operations. Joe joined Hotwire right after its launch in 2001, and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of almost every component of Hotwire's financial infrastructure.
Before Hotwire, Joe spent over 15 years in accounting and management functions for various international unions and associations in the Washington, DC area.
Joe received a BA in Economics and Financial Management and an MA in Accountancy from the Catholic University of America.
As Vice President of Operations, Pierre-Etienne Chartier leads the IT, Customer, and Product Operations teams. Pierre-Etienne joined Hotwire in 2008 as Director of IT, delivering scalability and uptime to meet increasing business demands while keeping a very cost-effective infrastructure.
Before joining Hotwire, Pierre-Etienne spent four years at Expedia Inc. where he led the implementation and operations of Expedia Connect and QuickConnect technologies, bringing real-time pricing and inventory to more than 20,000 hotels on Expedia and hotels.com.
Pierre-Etienne holds an International Baccalaureate in Economics from Jean-de-Brebeuf College in Montreal.
As Vice President of Global Product Development, Sarah Bernard oversees the company's product management, emerging businesses, and site user experience.
Prior to joining Hotwire, Sarah was VP of World Wide Product Development at Snapfish.com. In this role, she lead the product and user experience teams in the site's first major redesign and re-organization in 10 years and the overhaul of the R&D process for rapid speed and effective product discovery. Prior to Snapfish, Sarah was VP of eCommerce for Johnson & Johnson's BabyCenter.com.
Sarah holds a BA in Cognitive Science from Brown University.
